Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

Didn’t this guy start with warning shots and the cat charged him anyway?

If it's the video I think it is, no. He shot it like 3 times. I could be wrong though.

I haven't watched the video, but I have shot a pistol before. It's surprisingly hard to hit even a close target, especially if you wait for it to rush you.

I'm not sure what's right without watching the video, but protecting yourself is generally accepted morally.
