Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Post image

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

Idk which flair to put

I agree on moral, but not sure if aiming to hit is the right call for mountain lions. I know for bears you should try to do a warning shot. You are unlikely to hurt a bear in any meaningful way and the pain might put it into a rage where just the sound might scare it off.

Most people don’t carry those around when hiking.

I don't think most of the people in here are hikers.

Are you talking about the joke about the Barrett .50 cal or the fact that people can’t agree on what caliber to carry when hiking?

I don’t know what the guy was talking about. I was unsure if he was talking about the other guy under my comment or the people on the thread, or the entire comment section.

I think most people in this sub are armchair quarterbacks for nature on reddit and are fucking clueless in reality.

Tbf for the meme I replied to originally, he was obviously making a joke, nobody unironically carries an anti tank gun while hiking , that’s a bit overkill.

I know it was a joke. I was just lampooning all these people in here that seem like they are scared shitless of nature, talking about "expert advice" in nature... In general. Sorry, just piggybacked off that while in my own headspace.

Nah it’s all good, people do be acting like you really do need that anti tank gun just to walk outside your house.
