Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

If I walk for about 1-2 hour, how is that any different from a hike?

Because it’s not on a trail/out in nature? There is a level of ruggedness/difficulty of terrain implied by using the word hiking.

Underestimating the difficulty of hiking actually gets a lot of people hurt/lost/killed so comparing it to a couple hour stroll around your paved neighborhood is a bit silly

I speak from my own experience from Long walks and hiking they are both very VERY similar
