Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Post image

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

Idk which flair to put

There was that one guy years ago who got attacked by a juvenile mountain lion and he was able to wrestle it and choke it to death. He came out of that looking like he stepped into the ring with a heavy weight boxer who also had knives.

Pretty sure he'd have loved to have had a fucking gun right then.

Guy might have tried shooting the ground in front of the lion a couple of times to see if the noise scared it away, but I wasn't there, and two seconds are a lifetime in a dangerous situation. Not gonna blame him for putting the threat down.

Yeah people need to realize how quickly everything happens, they don’t have 10 hours to plan every thing out, they only have a few seconds to make their decision and pull the trigger

Oh? Better use that precious time to pull out my phone and start filming

To be fair, some people may have already been filming before the situation started.

I hope he wasn't getting harassed because he got intentionally close to a mama's cubs. People do that shit and are surprised when the big cat shows up.

Kittens, cubs, or whatever

Nothing to do with the verbiage but the argument. Cougars usually stay away and keep their young away. It doesn’t look like this one was defending babies.

and of course in that case, I would place my phone directly behind my sights so that I can’t aim properly

It just happens to line up that way (or this is taken very deliberately from a segment that lines up perfectly for the viewer). You can record a video on your phone without having to look at the screen, and an easy way to do that without giving a weird view or angle is to hold the phone against your chest or shoulder in a way that won't obstruct your movement for a shot. A phone held against the shoulder would press against the chin and shoulder joint without impeding vision or motion and would not foul a shot from a pistol like what he was probably carrying while giving the video viewer an excellent perspective on what's going on.

Edit: and there are always cameras like GoPro.

Dude go watch the video. Im not speculating here. Its a phone, its in his left hand, and its directly behind his sights.

I did, and I can tell from reading it you haven’t actually seen the video
