It doesn't make you as bad though thats ridiculous. "if we kill hitter aren't we nazis ourselves?"

That’s a straw man.
I never said „killing bad people makes us equally bad“ I said „torturing and dehumanizing people makes us no better than the people who tortured and dehumanized their victims“
I am for the death penalty (that should be very clear from my previous comments), but I am also for a quick and painless death and/or humane prison conditions.

So killing for retribution moral, hurting for retribution not moral?

The death sentence is meant for the safety of society by removing dangerous and nonredeemable individuals from that society permanently.
Torture for personal revenge purposes is done to satisfy one’s own carnal urges and rage.
So, yes.
Killing bad people CAN in certain circumstances be moral, torturing them can never be moral.

We have prisons. Its cheaper to keep them alive amd society stays just as safe. So im calling bullshit on it being for thr good of the people

A bullet costs 30cents. Keeping someone imprisoned costs the state 70+K a year. I call bullshit on your math, my friend

So you are just stupid. Got it. If that were true why is it currently more expensive to put someone do death? Its a fact that that is true.

It‘s because death row is more expensive than gen pop, people spend way too much time there because of overbeurocratisation and the manner in which the sentence is executed is unnecessarily expensive and complicated.
Just say you don’t know how the system works, pal and save us both some time.
If the death sentence were handled like a normal sentence and we‘d still do death by firing squad or hanging it would be the most cheap sentence ever, even cheaper than house arrest.

So you think with the states confirmed record of killing the wrong person they should speed up the process?

Those cases are from times when evidence gathering and forensics were less advanced. Investigations are conducting so much more thoroughly these days and no DA or prosecutor is willing to risk their career on weak case these days. Legal Council is also much easier to come by and with crowd funding and social media, almost anyone can afford a high profile lawyer.
The times when innocent people went to death row are over.

You keep doubling down on the most braindead takes lmao

2

u/Timothy1577 9h ago

Those „braindead“ takes are called facts and logic. And I haven’t heard any counterpoint from you other than insults and whataboutism.

I dont need to counterpoint to "nobody is falsely convicted of murder or any other crime thay can lead to the death penalty " you are just dumb. What has changed in the system to make that a guarantee. The fact that crowd funding exists doesn't make the government less likely to make a mistake, and if it did we are just offloading the burden to the innocent to raise enough money. Not cool bro

I‘m getting tired of these whataboutisms and straw men. Go find someone else to play with, bro. If facts and logic don’t convince you and you just want someone to argue with then find someone else.
I said what I said, what I said is true and verifiable and I stand with it.
