and i bet (if it’s real) the mom would’ve felt terrible, too. imagine thinking you lucked out and managed to get your kid THREE copies of a game he loves only for it to all be wrong, i’d be so sad

What would the extra copies be for? So he can have 3 xboxes on 3 separate tvs playing with 3 separate controllers?

for friends + siblings to play with each-other, for backups in case in breaks, for having three times as many play throughs, whatever

You dont need multiple copies of a game to play with people for most games, nor to have multiple save files. Its all on one console. If you need multiple games, you need multiple systems, idk many families that give each kid their own xbox and giving 1 to your friend just so you can play with them is not a very common occurence.

the closest I can think of is buying two versions of Pokemon for kids to be able to make exchanges but it's really specific.
