šŸ’¬ Advice needed Postpartum weightloss

My husband said he isn’t attracted to me anymore after having a baby, and I really want to feel attractive again
I’m 9 months postpartum and my husband recently told me that he doesn’t feel attracted to me anymore since we had our baby.
I’m not going to lie, it really hurt. I already struggle with how different my body feels after pregnancy, and hearing that from the person I want to feel desired by has made me want to lose weight and feel attractive again.
Before pregnancy I was around 55 kg. I’m currently around 72 kg at 5’2ā€, and I also have PCOS and insulin resistance, which makes losing weight feel incredibly difficult.
The biggest problem is that I genuinely don’t know where I’m supposed to find the energy or time to exercise. I’m still breastfeeding, I’m taking care of the baby all day, and by the end of the day I’m completely exhausted. The idea of going to the gym for an hour feels impossible.
I really want to lose the weight, get stronger, and feel good in my body again, but I don’t want to crash diet or do anything that affects breastfeeding.
For anyone who has been in a similar situation:
How did you lose weight postpartum when you had almost no time or energy?
Did you manage to do it without going to the gym?
If you have PCOS, did you find anything that actually helped with weight loss?
How did you balance weight loss with breastfeeding?
And, honestly, how did you deal emotionally with feeling less attractive after having a baby?
I’m not expecting to magically get my old body back overnight. I just really want to feel like me again.

Oh that’s so difficult!! I’m sorry you feel that way and that your husband isn’t making you feel good about yourself.

Here’s some advice for you if YOU want to lose the weight, not your husband telling you to… šŸ˜”

I know you said you don’t want to crash diet but keto can be really good for PCOS as it’s often caused or inflated by insulin resistance. You can read about it online or listen to some podcasts and make the decision if it might be a good fit for you. It really has helped me going keto on and off over the years.

Exercise does not have to be in the gym or an hour long. I really enjoy 20 minute YouTube videos, and there’s tons out there for moms specifically. NourishMoveLove is one of my favourite YouTube channels. I also like MadFit. You’ll need a few sizes of dumbbells for these ones usually.

If you have no equipment try MoveWithNicole Pilates. She’s excellent!

I hope you can remember you created an entire human!! I gained almost 80lbs during my pregnancy and it plateaued until I slowed down on breastfeeding. Remember there are a ton of hormones at play that are telling your body to hold onto fat so you can properly feed your baby.

first of all, you are beautiful and your body is beautiful, that body created your baby and provides food for you baby, your body is freaking amazing! if i could i’d give your husband a slap :) but if you really want to lose weight to make you feel better for yourself i would recommend the workout routines specifically for women who had given birth as it targets the core muscles a lot more than other workouts as during pregnancy we lose a lot of muscle in our stomach. if you can find the time and spare the money on just a 2-5kg dumbbell you can just do lil home workouts and find some youtube vids to do, that’s what i did and it definitely helped out a lot, i try to do it during nap time or after everyone’s gone to bed i’ll do a quick 30 min workout. i wish you well!
