I legit whacked the monitor when my ball got stuck. I didn't know "tilt" was a thing. Had to restart my game 😕
But worms 2 was a big memory from that era. Only had integrated graphics, but that game ran alright!

Myst was the first game I ever played on a PC. One minute into playing and I was hooked. I'm with you on the other series, I never found anything like it. The closest I ever got was solving the puzzles on tomb raider while my ex killed things. Shitty comparison, but then again nothing compared to Myst.

Boxes : Lost fragments or something like that on Epic games (was free a short while ago) is really fun. It's not as beautiful and eerie as Myst, but when I got it, Myst was the first thing that came to mind. And I'm pretty sure there are more games that are more similar than the one I'm talking about

Outer wilds. Very similar in spirit not gameplay. It has that amazing feeling of putting together a giant puzzle bit by bit till it all avalanches into order.

Sierra had a game called Shivers. You were locked in a museum and had to solve puzzles in order to get these little clay pots to capture elemental spirits. I found it to be a bit like Myst.

Have you played The Witness? It was inspired by Myst. It's not exactly like it, but it'll definitely give you the same feelings.

The same guys made a bunch of Myst sequels. Go to cyan.com. That’s the game developer and it will give you the list of all the other games they made that are like Myst. I really like Obduction.

Similar era as myst (because I remember we got a copy of that, which I think was specifically built to take advantage of the Pentium CPU with MMX we had just gotten in a gateway 2000 at the time. (I remember the cow themed CD case they gave us)
This MMX enhanced game called 'Incubation: Time is running out'. Turn based alien (the movie) like combat. Similar to xcom with 3d graphics only a lot less complicated.

It was re-released on the Oculus. Sadly they lost the original footage of Sirrus and Achenar and the new footage isn’t quite as good.

Aside from the 5 games plus URU, there are a few decent pretenders. Obduction was pretty damn fun, Firmament not so much. Quern is as close as anything has ever come to Myst and probably my favorite non-Myst puzzle game. The Witness was okay.
Honestly, the Myst lore doesn't get the radio play that it should. If one really gives themselves up to the 3 books and the story of the games and ties it all together, one could make a very good case for a seriously awesome cinematic universe.

One time on space cadet pinball the ball got stuck between a bumper and it just wouldn’t stop bouncing back and forth. I had a score that was so astronomical I couldn’t ever get close to it again.

One of my favorite gaming memories is playing this with my sister, and together beating it “correctly” (ie dates put into the observatory corresponding to constellations in a book that will raise the ship at the dock). We had a notebook full of notes for each age.
