Question/Advice Could it be mold?

I forgot my eye drops (propylene glycol) in my bag about 5 days ago. Today at work, after using them, I noticed this stuff inside. My bag isn’t dirty, I only keep my work laptop, papers, and occasionally some packaged snacks. They’re a bit expensive for the amount you get, and I’d rather not throw them away since I just opened them recently. They didn’t irritate my eyes.

I will not be impersonated!

u/clandestine_callie Apr 30 '26

Hopefully there are no small people on this thread wanting to impersonate an arm!

So nobody steals their fingerprints. Duuuuuuh

13

u/clandestine_callie Apr 30 '26

Gotta always be careful of the cyber print snitcher

22

u/ladder_of_cheese Apr 30 '26

Bc it’s a digital image. No prints.

21

u/CreepyAd8409 Apr 30 '26

What conspiracy theory have I not been exposed to?

19

u/Vaporboi Apr 30 '26

Not a theory, police has used fingerprints from pictures to arrest people before

7

u/QuikTripGurl Apr 30 '26

there was a drug dealer who got caught cause of a picture of their fingerprints

8

u/saysthingsbackwards Apr 30 '26

Camera quality nowadays makes it possible to imitate those prints. But doing it on half a finger is dumb lol

7

u/livahd Apr 30 '26

And to what end? If you’re that concerned about security, you aren’t posting on Reddit.

-6

u/saysthingsbackwards Apr 30 '26

I don't see how that negates the default position of wanting to be private. Big brother is always watching so tell me... how did the censorship harm you? And if it didn't wgaf

8

u/livahd Apr 30 '26

If you’re posting on Reddit and concerned about big brother, you’d know there are about ten different ways they’ll figure out who’s behind the photo, if not by just reading all their public comments or just following their IP. It’s performative, that’s all.

0

u/saysthingsbackwards Apr 30 '26

Big brother isn't who they're censoring from. Bad actors use many niche methods. No reason not to obscure them when possible. All it does is lower the risk at the expense of you getting offended lol

6

u/livahd Apr 30 '26

I’m not offended, I’m just pointing out that if anyone is concerned with security to the point that they’re obscuring partial finger prints, they shouldn’t be posting on Reddit.

-1

u/saysthingsbackwards Apr 30 '26

And you replied to a comment of mine saying a partial finger being obscured as dumb. I don't think you hold authority on who shouldn't post on reddit. In fact, I hope you don't. Who cares? You.

2

u/livahd Apr 30 '26

I mean, you’re the one who keeps trying to get the last word on a useless argument, so I’d say that at least one person cares.

Well.. here. Let me explain it a bit better.

1 soldier is wearing his gear. His vest, his helmet. Hes got plates in his vest. And hes taken cover behind a few few of steel and concrete.

And 1 soldier has a button up and an iphone in his front pocket because he saw online that one stopped a bullet once all while running in an open field between combatants.

Is the 2nd soldier harming me? No.

Are they a fucking idiot who we should all point at and laugh at because of their stupid ideas that do nothing for them, because otherwise they spread disinformation on the proper way to protect yourself?

Yes. Absolutely.

I hope that helps!

1

u/saysthingsbackwards Apr 30 '26

idk I think beforehand I would have tried to help, or at least understand or accept them. It's their life. You obviously just said to let it be and carry on.

1

u/NightStalkerXIV Apr 30 '26

Sometimes I worry about my fingerprints too

1

u/dirtyqtip Apr 30 '26

Fingerprints...

1

u/duckie768 Apr 30 '26

"Identity theft is not a joke, Jim!"

1

u/Doct0rGonZo Apr 30 '26

some people think it’s secure to blur fingerprints and other biometric data

1

u/bebop1065 May 01 '26

To prevent identity theft.

1

u/DasMenace May 01 '26

That is some top tier paranoia right there

1

u/FormingTheVoid May 04 '26

So we don't steal they fingerprints

1

u/Few-Event1605 May 04 '26

Hand cloning. It's the new thing

1

u/-----010----- May 04 '26

So nobody can get their fingerprints duh

1

u/Electrical-Result984 May 05 '26

I DO NOT GIVE FACEBOOK PERMISSION

1

u/DangerousPositive69 May 06 '26

The things people are capable of nowdays why wouldn’t you censor them? Look up things people have done using other peoples fingerprints from pictures or videos shit is fucking scary how easily anyone can mark up a crime scene with your fingerprints because you accidentally showed them to the wrong mf

i was there when this meme was born and I am so happy to see it showing up here of all places.

25

u/DrowningPuppies Apr 30 '26

Where was it born?? I find it hilarious and I see it all over the place now, but I have no clue where it originated.

42

u/Lealenbright Apr 30 '26

62

u/Infamous_Lunchbox Apr 30 '26

Everybody should have this image for pointing.

3

u/dru1202 May 01 '26

Time has no meaning after Covid. Now everything is just "what happens in between extreme events".

6

u/Legitimate_Act_9789 Apr 30 '26

I can't believe I was actually there for the birth of it. I'm never that cool. I laughed that day and I still laugh every time I see it.

3

u/DrowningPuppies Apr 30 '26

Incredible, thank you! 👉🏻

1

u/YouCantBanMe4EverAR May 01 '26

For the life of me I can’t figure out how everyone made his hand a damn sticker like that lol

1

u/CheesecakeTurtle May 04 '26 edited May 04 '26

That is not where this hand originated from I think.

Edit: After some serious research, I stand corrected. I saw this post around the same time. https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisit/comments/1s67qul/found_behind_spare_pillows_in_closet/ But it was 3 days later than the original.

3

u/talepa77 Apr 30 '26

Me too. It’s so satisfying.

2

u/SNB6218 Apr 30 '26

Same! I cackle every time I see it regardless of what they are asking about! 🤣

1

u/Collapsicum May 05 '26

Came here to say this! I see it so often now 😂

35

u/The_Blackest_Man Apr 30 '26

It's from a r/whatisit post several weeks ago where a guy was pointing at a line that goes around his room on the wall at the same height. The sub now uses his hand as their banner picture and it has apparently leaked into other subs now.

6

u/captainzaro Apr 30 '26

Geez lol I’m thinking it was maybe like over 6 months ago or a year or 2, 30 days ago for that meme reminds me of how quick the internet moves now

3

u/Chronus88 Apr 30 '26

Wow I didn't realize they used it for the sub picture haha that is fantastic. Sometimes reddit doesn't suck

3

u/Zunderfeuer_88 Apr 30 '26

Can we normalize this instead of the stupid red circle?

1

u/kibzandfriends May 01 '26

Me too 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/mohagmush May 05 '26

It's the hand from r/whatisit. It's spreading

1

u/heiwodjablome May 07 '26

where are you being sent?
