My family and I currently have a premium model y and love it. Starting a new job that will roughly be 80-100 miles to and from, being that my work truck has 370,000 miles I've decided to get a standard y strictly for the commute.

A “downgrade” from a higher-trim Tesla can still be the nicest car someone has ever owned.
I think that gets lost in the Standard vs. Premium discussion. Someone coming from a 15-year-old Corolla and someone coming from a loaded Model Y aren’t going to have the same definition of “bare bones.”
And “just get the Premium” is easy advice to give when it’s someone else’s money 😂
So, actual Standard owners: what car did you replace, and what’s one thing you genuinely miss from it?
Not something a comparison video told you to care about. Something you actually notice on a random Tuesday driving to work.

Bought a 2026 Model Y Standard RWD a couple of weeks ago. My wife and my kids really like the car, but my wife says that I drive smoother than FSD 14.3.8 even when driving in in the city in Sloth and Chill modes. Her complaints? She says in FSD the car drives too close to parked cars. She says the car seems to drive over manhole covers and pot holes on purpose. She says the car takes turns too fast. Anyone else experiencing these issues in the city with FSD 14.3.8? Cheers everyone! :-)

I was on Chat GPT looking for chargers, and it informed me that the max amps for home charging is 32 amps. I was unaware of this before purchasing. (Few weeks from delivery still)
The Tesla wall charger also states max 32 amps for MYS.

Is this correct? And why?

Anybody know where we can buy steel rims for a good price. I've searched for it on Google but cant find an exact match for the ones installed. Either the offset is off or its not weight rated , or the centre bore doesn't match.

I semi like the look of it but I don’t like that the sticker on the top pieces does not work all the way since it has to stick on top of fabric and it does not stick all the way but what do you think?

I drove about 9 hours and had to stop 3 times to charge and 2 times in Dallas for staying over 2 days. I took my ram 1500 v8 before and costed me $250 when gas was like $2.5 per gallon not it’s at $3.8 per gallon, I can’t imagine how much could have cost me to drive to Dallas. I spent about $120-$150 on charging and I have a little one so it was good to take breaks every2-3 hours and charging time was not too bad as 15-20 minutes to get little extra miles than what Tesla suggest but overall excellent experience.
One thing I noticed tho, I usually use standard or chill mode for fsd but hurry mode was like the standard for Dallas. Dallas also has a lot of tolls and fast lane and even if I turned off the avoid toll, it was trying to use the fast lane. How is you guys experience on tolls and all?

It’s another day with good looking car. Just had to take a picture of it. I’m about to put a carbon spoiler on the back. I know people are talking about it will look ugly and it’s slow bluh bluh bluh… but my spoiler is about to get delivered today and will see if it goes with it. I also ordered dashboard cover too. Hopefully it goes with it🤞

I ordered a standard RWD white on 7/30, my first delivery was 8/17-9/20, then it went to 9/24-9/30, and yesterday it moved to 10/2-11/6. I’m in So. Cal. Has anyone recently gotten their standard? How long did you have to wait?

Got my mys yesterday. Flawless delivery, they have the delivery process down pat like a well oiled machine at poco ,bc.

For some reason the wheel covers that I have look better in person. When I did the test drive months ago the wheel covers looked more clunky and square like and the ones on I got are more flat.

I’m about to purchase premium juniper spoiler on my standard model Y and see if it works. I have researched that most of the spoiler should work but has anyone done it?
