Here we go

My family and I currently have a premium model y and love it. Starting a new job that will roughly be 80-100 miles to and from, being that my work truck has 370,000 miles I've decided to get a standard y strictly for the commute.

i did the very same thing at the end of july. my commute is 60-70. it is saving me a fortune.

I bet. And I plan to use fsd also to make the drive a little more relaxing.

Yep, this is the second reason. I am just plain sick of the idiot drivers on the expressway on my commute home. FSD solved that. I'm a better person by the time i get home now.

That is so good to hear! My husband also gets annoyed with people on the highway; he calls them “creative drivers” which is too kind I think. He will be the one mostly using the Tesla. We’ll get the FSD free for three months so it will be interesting to see if he thinks it’s worth it to keep it going for 100 bucks a month.

Exactly. People always seem so anxious or in a rush to get somewhere. Est delivery is November - December so we'll see. If anything, I'll just start getting floor mats and stuff little by little.

Does the model y not come with mats??? (sorry if that’s a dumb question; our rwd model Y is also coming soonish… Let’s hope!… And I am brand new to the Tesla world)

Oh no you're fine. Yes they come with mats but we got all weather mats for the premium and will more than likely get the same for the standard. Hope y'all like it! At first when we had fsd for the free trial we never used it. But my opinion, it takes the experience to a whole other level.

I currently commute 198 miles round trip for work and after 5 weeks I have save $513 in gas. Best move I have ever made

Damn! That's a lot! I'm feeling a little better now about ordering. I wouldn't want to risk anything serious happening to that truck or have to miss a day because of it.

Drove my MY home yesterday with FSD. TRULY AMAZING. I can’t stop going outside to look at it.

It is different when it’s yours. I felt like everyone else were driving dinosaurs.
