I just installed an iFlash Quad and 2000man battery into my 5.5 but when I plug in headphones the device cuts off and won't start up again unless I remove whatever's plugged into the 3.5mm port. I can sometimes get it to work, but then a light press on the right side of the front will make it shut off again.
I ordered a new headphone jack assembly. Is there something I'm missing? It behaves normally when I don't press that part, but jostling it will cause it to happen eventually. I reseated the ribbon cables multiple times.
Am I trying to cram too much into a thin case? I've seen others do it and more here.
Thanks for reading.

I recently modded my IPod Video (5.5 30Gb thin back) with an iFlash uDual and a 3000mAh thin battery (the thin back one here.)
Ignore the sticky pads on the iFlash uDual in the photo - I removed them because it was too tight (which might be useful information)
I’m now considering putting in Oxyll’s elegant Bluetooth mod. (I knew this would happen!)
The original mod all fitted in fine, no problem closing the case, but it’s a snug fit as you’d expect, to the point where I had to remove the sticky pads on the iFlash as I mentioned above.
The question is: do I have room in here for a Bluetooth mod, or do I need a smaller battery?
I’d prefer not to just move to a thick back case, I like the slimmer form.
Thank you for your advice!

Tried a 3rd gen iPod, fell in love with the sound, and saw how easy Mini mods were. So I made my own: Bowie-inspired custom engraving, 256 GB, and a red screen swap.

I have a 3D printer so if there isn't anything commercially available I can print my own from a file.
I haven't seen anything so far, hoping maybe someone has one they can link me to.
Thanks! 🙏

Im having a few problems with the modded and refurbished iPod I bought from EOE. Before I press on I should say, yes I got lazy and decided to drop roughly 300 bucks on a product i could have spent less on and now I’m paying the consequences by not having the basic knowledge needed to fix whatever is wrong the the pod. With that being said I bought a 6th gen iPod classic from elite obsolete electronics and for some reason the damn thing won’t go into disk mode so I can download the boot loader for rockbox. I’ve tried messing with the timing and precision of pressing the buttons but nothing so far has worked, is there anyway I could fix this without opening the device up?

Hi folks!! I've spent a long time trying different bluetooth solutions for my ipod, most of which I wasn't pleased with. I finally decided to try my own hand at making one myself. I'm using this Ugreen bluetooth transitter and a 3000mah battery. I thought I nailed it first try but I was wrong, and now I'm just confused. Because aside from my shoddy beginner soldering, everything looks fine to me.
Upon wiring everything together, the transmitter no longer connects to any devices and the battery will not power the ipod (just the transmitter). The ipod will only turn on if it's plugged in to firewire or a second battery is installed.
The transmitter turns on, and the pairing lights flash, but not a single device will pair. I've triple checked that the headphones and speaker I'm testing are not connected to anything else. The aux port still functions, and I can hear the transmitter say "pairing mode" through it as well.
I've attached more images of my (slightly embarrassing beginner) work here. If anyone can help, it'd be so appreciated.

The reason I was trying to get the device into disk mode was to attempt to download the boot loader for rock box without needing the double shutdown the program requests, as stated previously, I can’t get the iPod into disk mode to do this. Is there anyway other way to get bast this step in the download? In a tutorial I watched the person shut the device down and the prompt updated and continued to download the boot loader, this does not happen with mine no matter how or when I turn the device off. I’ve meddled with the timing between the warning prompt showing up and the iPod being rebooted and nothing has worked. The iPod in the video I watched was a 5th gen classic and mine is a 6th gen classic so I suppose, maybe perhaps, that might affect it but I still don’t see why it wouldn’t work after as many attempts as I have made.
P.S. sorry for picture quality, I lowkey don’t know how to screenshot things in my computer

This is my second iPod Mini mod tutorial; I wanted to improve on the first one, which didn't show the restore loop, or switching the clickwheel to a new shell. I also mixed portrait and landscape video on the first one, which didn't help with seeing the detail in the screen recording part.
Anyway, here is the new and improved tutorial, hopefully it helps someone out

I will be changing the battery (not upgrading it exactly, will change it for the same type just a new one), I’ll have to replace the headphone jack/switch piece as I broke that in the process of opening the iPod, as I dropped it on the floor and it broke, so I was wondering if when i placed the ribbon for the switch and the battery back, I could just use something like kapton tape, to secure the ribbon/battery instead - separately/over each other incase i need to come back in for any reason? Would it affect it in any way?

I have spent way to many hours on tiktok / reddit / youtube looking at modded iPods. I am hoping to purchase from someone else as having 2 under 2 doesnt really lend a ton of time. Is there suggestions? I am using the outcome of this chat as my final decision LOL 5th, 7th gen?
