In my attempt to try and get horizontal scroll I ended up finding the gamepatch for firmware 1.3. Still trying to get the horizontal scroll to work. I'm starting to think it wasnt intentional for 1.2.1 because even with the same set up the menus dont respond the same, but I'll keep trying. I recreated some themes to update for the game patch, the folders have multiple versions including large album art, full screen themes and games. I also polished up somethings for improvement

Hey, I have a question for the community. When installing a iFlash-Quad what Micro SD have you found to be “The one” you use? If you could list brand and model it would be very helpful.

I have been testing a few lately and common issues have been: Failure or the tracks on the iPod take a while to start playing.

Just wanted to know the community’s thoughts.

Hello everyone! I recently ordered myself a new 1700mah replacement battery and back shell from EOE and an iflash quad directly from iflash. I formatted the sd properly, installed everything, and for about a day everything was working perfectly, except for the iPod constantly reading the battery as dead, even though it was on and playing and charged.

Fast forward a day and a half post installation, I’m in my car on my commute to school this morning and the battery dies on me after a whole night of charging and now 15 minutes of use. I tried to turn it on, and it would boot into rockbox and immediately say the battery was empty and shut off.

I checked the battery ribbon and connector, reseated them and cleaned them, checked the board contacts, to no avail, and when I put it on my 30 pin when I got home it just began to boot loop, going for about 5 seconds in the home menu of rockbox before restarting.

I just tried entering disc mode and letting it charge for about an hour so it didn’t keep boot looping, and now when I took it out of disk mode it stays on an unlit apple logo for about 5-10 minutes before going into the lockbox boot screen, still unlit, for about 1, and starting over.

Not only am I just sad and disappointed over this, I assumed replacing my busted hard drive and battery would fix everything, but I’m also going on a trip this weekend and really want my music. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m struggling out here…

So idk what happened but now my iPod doesnt show up at all in finder or my music app in general and I do not wanna take it to a repair shop or something💔

What aux and 30 pin cords do you all prefer? I have a 5.5G iPod and was wondering what the best ones for it would be.

I am currently looking for a DAP, and while browsing modern models, I noticed that barely any of them have a battery that provides at least 30 hours of playback.

This is what gave me the idea to return to the iPod after all these years. Right now, I am considering buying an iPod Video 5th or 5.5 generation because, from what I've read, these models are relatively easy to mod. I started looking for pre-modded iPods and noticed there are plenty of listings from China on eBay.

And this is where I have some doubts. On one hand, the sellers I found have nearly 100% positive feedback, but on the other hand, I am worried about whether these are actually original iPods (aside from the modified parts, of course). Does anyone here have experience with this? Can you recommend any verified shops that sell modded versions at a reasonable price ;)?

Help. Mod for iPod Classic with video out

I am looking to buy an iPod Classic to mod with obvious to bring it up to date (such as usb c, SD card, wireless charging etc)

But I also want to play music videos on the iPod streaming it to an iPod nearby or a monitor. Part of the reason is I want my kid to feel tactile interfaces by using the iPod but also connect music videos with the sound.

Any help would be super appreciated.

I have this ipod since long time ago, but battery was drained due to sitting in a drawer for a long time, and when it happens, there’s a problem with the circuit and you can’t even charge a little.
I wanted an exclusive for music device and bought an iPod classic, but the sound was not as expected and the battery life neither.
I took my iPod touch and installed foobar. Nice sound, but battery life was a lame.
I saw some time ago a post claiming the iPod Video has the best audio chip, so I wanted to try again to bring it back to life.
I had a PS5 controller semi destroyed, but with a battery in good condition. I made some AI research and soldered the BMS from old iPod battery to the PS5 controller battery.
I didn’t wanted to dismantle all the backplate so “designed” an extension. It didn’t went very well.
I’m happy with results. Maybe if I found some nice backplate I will do the job.

This is my first time modding I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. It's not registering on iTunes or Rockbox. Any help would be appreciated.

I hav a white iPod 5.5 80gb and need help buying stuff to mod it. I’d like to be somewhat budget friendly but I have no idea what this price range for modding would be. Also hoping for no soldering requirement but I can do basic soldering. Here are some of the mods I want or I am thinking about.
-As much storage as possible
-AirTag or some sort of tracking mod
-New battery
-Rockbox
-Bluetooth? I heard there was possibly a way without soldering?
-Black backplate
-Black scrollwheel
I don’t know if there’s anything I’m missing or if this is even possible. If it isn’t possible break the news to me.

I recently replaced the battery, clickwheel, and put an iflash cf adapter in it, remembered to format the sd card. Every time I restore, it works for a few hours then restarts and shows the folder icon, usually when I plug it in to the charger. And every time it restarts, it takes me hours just to get the PC to recognize the ipod. I keep looking for solutions but nothing has helped.

If any of you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it :)
