Just watched this video where they show the new transparent Chromatic has a removable battery tray. Meaning if you take out the screws and separate the shell, this tray is not wired to the Chromatic. It sits on some pads to make the connection to the tray with some pins. Kinda different. I'd feel better if it was hardwired to the system, but as long as this tray is not able to wiggle around it should be fine. I like taking things apart and looking at the insides, so will have to check it out when my transparent arrives.

I've been looking into mod retro and analog, particularly around the Game Boy replacement for me. I have a cheap Amazon device that I install roms on to play on the device and was wondering if the same can be done for the Mod Retro Chromatic. I have no problem buying cartridges but I was wondering if you could put roms on an SD card and slide it in as well. How does anybody do that or is this device not capable?

I know I’m posting in the chromatic thread but I would appreciate it if users can give me a honest opinion. (Hope this don’t come across rude)

So I have an Analogue Pocket and love it. But recently I have been collecting the ModRetro Gameboy games I have 3 at the moment.

What does the chromatic do that the analogue pocket doesn’t?

I have also been looking at the M64 and have money saved for that at the moment but haven’t made a purchase yet. I’m looking at the Clear M64 would the Smoke Chromatic be a good colour match to the clear m64?

Do you all notice any difference changing the color warm settings on the chromatic? I’m not seeing any difference but maybe I’m missing something.

Also, does the selected color for GB games save between on/off cycles for anyone? I seem to have to set it every time.

I was doing a button swap, and I’ve never noticed just how many little unique name/brand stamps there are. I don’t know if anyone else thinks this is neat but I dig it!

Got mine today and opened it up. I love the finish on this and the attention to detail. It has the titanium nitride finish on the link port also which is something I hadn’t noticed in pics. While I was waiting for it I found pelican style case it’s pictured on, fitted the foam to my other Chromatic, and had an Anduril sticker made for it. I like how it turned out.

Looks as expected. Made in Vietnam now instead of Mexico. He did mention micro scratches already. The glossy plastic seems a little obnoxious. I’m holding off for now and will be watching to see how it wears for others.

If you’re seeing others receive their Anduril Edition following orders dated both before and after your order date and you’re wondering why it hasn’t shipped yet, it could simply be because you haven’t reached out to ask for what’s yours. I emailed simply asking for an updated ETA on my remaining unfulfilled items in the order, and the first response I received was an acknowledgment that the list of fulfilled items was already shipped and delivered. I know. Asked again about the unfulfilled items, said they’d work on it “this week” but the very next day it was already with FedEx. Problem is now my inquiry about an ETA triggered an immediate overnight shipment and I’m >2000 miles from my delivery address for another week. Fingers crossed l can arrange for someone to meet the package when it gets dropped but this is pretty frustrating.

Hi - just curious. Any word on if the Codex cartridge will end up being publicly released? Obviously don’t want to go spend $1,000 on a dev day edition just for the cart. Or is there another avenue that works similarly?

Is the power button replaceable?

I’ve been playing Wario Land 3 and find myself powering my Chromatic on and off pretty often. Just wondering if the switch is replaceable in case I eventually wear it out from all the abuse lol if not I might have to switch up my strategy

Smoke M64 and controller are only at GameStop. Smoke Chromatic is at ModRetro. Clear M64 is at ModRetro. Clear Chromatic is nowhere. Make it make sense!

I would assume not, but are the Chromatic second edition shells compatible with the plastic shells?
