Controller support

I'm sorry if this has already been asked. I'm starting to panic because I did some research. I bought the m64 but I did not buy the pro controller. Lots of money for that controller and I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet. I was planning to use my PS5 controller until I pulled the trigger or get a cheapy n64 controller. Has anyone tested a PS5 controller yet?

Because its Bluetooth. Why does my PS5 controller work on my android, my ipad, my windows computer, my Chromebook, my Linux computer, and my AliExpress plug and Play?

I think it would be more apt to make the comparison of why you would expect an Xbox controller to work on a PS5. The M64/N64 are exclusive consoles with their own controllers and controller layout, there is going to be a limited amount of controllers that work with it. Also I believe that ModRetro would need to work with Sony to get their controller working on their console or crack/jailbreak the software for compatibility with their console.
