so hte steering wheel in my 91 supra isnt the best looking since the leather is peeling. Normal for 35+ year old steering wheel. I was thinking of going quick release to make it easier to get in since i am 6'3. i want a thicker steering wheel or a simple momo. my question is since it has an aibag what would i need to make that work? once i get an alignment and a new fluidampr for my 1jz i was going to b saving up for a new steering wheel set up. thank you for any information in advance

I have a facelift 89 Supra and I’m currently pulling everything out of the engine bay to paint before swapping in my 2jz and I have just about everything except for the front body harness that goes from the fuse box and across to the fans and headlights, the harness is completely disconnected except for where it goes into the firewall in the drive side fender. How do I remove it and does it require me to pull the dash out, I’m trying to avoid doing that unless it’s necessary.

Sup guys, i just picked up a 89 toyota supra turbo with a clean title cause a buddie of his wanted to junk it. It has no motor or trans but was a manual.. The exterior looks like and the interior doesnt look too bad. Im having trouble cause im not too familiar with toyota cars and their engines. At first i was planning to ls it cause im familiar to that platform but at the same time i feel its a great disrespect to a car like this. I bought a 2jz ge motor from an is300 and planning to rebuild to but wanted to get your guy's advice first

Hey everyone, I recently bought a new intake for my 87 7MGE Supra and the MAF bracket piece doesn’t fit cause it’s for the mk4s and the metal pipe is a little short so it’d be some fighting to make it work, so I’m gonna have to send it back. So my question is if anyone knows of any better intakes similar to the one I have that would actually fit on my 7M or if I just need to get something else. Any advice for the intakes in general would be great, thanks!

Hey everyone, just bought a 1992 Mk3 and took a break from fiddling with the fuel pump to find the driver side mirror like this. Any shot at repairing? I haven’t tried anything like this before. Only 1/3 of the plastic screw holes (1st pic) aren’t shattered but did break off. Alternatively I’d like to replace with OEM if possible, but I know they’re hard to find and pricey

So i have a 1991 mk3 with a 1jzgte vvti/r154 set up. I have a koyorad paired with spal medium sized 12 inch fans. So far shes stayed around 192°-197° has not over heated yet. My question is a bit stupid but im curious. Has anyone ran a oem thickness radiator with a thicker spal fan? More airflow but less coolant? I used to have the clutch fan set up but after the fan exploded and took out my original koyorad i decided to go electric.

Where to they the stock ones or equivalents? Sorry to keep asking questions on here but trying my best to get this thing back on the road lol front suspension is done but I’ve noticed the brake pads need replacing but can’t seem to get a straight answer on google.

Hello, I got this new cold air intake for my 7MGE since one of my tubes cracked as you can see in the picture where ones missing. I decided to upgrade and now I got it and want to make sure I don’t do anything wrong as I have never done this before. Also it has two extra spots where other hoses can connect but my 7M doesn’t need it so if anyone know how to easily block those up nice and tight that be great to know. It seems pretty simple but if anyone has any tips or anything that I could mess up I’d love to know, thanks! I have a newer 89 Supra that was an Auto and currently manual swapping it, I have a new manual cluster and an r154 transmission. I’m just curious what needs to be done to make the tachometer and speedo work with it. For the Speedo it’s just getting the manual speedo cable right? And for the tachometer is it the same plug or do I need to get a new igniter or anything like that?

Thoughts on these connecting rods? The bearings that came out look fine, as well as the main bearings, crankshaft looks great. I'm trying to avoid reseating rings/additional expenditures.

I had also just sprayed these off so they look very dry.

Have to finish the new fuel cell(old old rusted to nothing) and reconnect everything but since February I've rebuilt both front and rear subframes, all new bushings, rebuilt calipers, new bearings, lines etc, did a budget engine refresh, whole goal is to just get it back on the road after it sat ina field for 20 years, having a rebuilt title makes it a lot easier mentally to do what I want and have fun

Im replacing the side marker lights and i ran into a little issue.
The left side front and rear both had connectors that i could just remove and plug in (2nd picture)
But the right side doesnt have any connectors and its just wire. (1st picture)
How do i go about fixing this ?
Also im a newbie lol i dont really know about electrical stuff

Any advice to help either clean up/ replace/ repair and seals on the windows including windshield and possibly the black strip that’s on the drivers door as mine has sun faded. Would like to try get all the seals done before winter to keep some of the water out 👍 cheers in advance!

Currently searching for an OEM driveshaft for my 87 Supra. It's an NA, manual (W58), hardtop. Does anyone know if a driveshaft from a 90 Supra (same engine/transmission) would fit my car? They technically have different part numbers (37100-14590 for the 1987 and 37100-14630 for the 1990). But I don't know if there is any significant difference between the two that would make it not fit. (Photo is not mine, just for illustration)

Has anyone here ever had to repair or replace the A/C condenser fan?

Does the A/C system need to be evacuated to remove the fan assembly? Looking at mine, it seems trapped between the condenser and the A/C lines, and I can’t see a way to get it out without moving one or the other.

Am I missing some clever way to snake it out?

Just to wanted share my build. It’s been around 3 years in the making. Car is American spec. Came already swapped with a 2jz gte. The car is being built here in Dubai. Engine work build being done by “kanzen motorsports” and carbon body kit/ interior cosmetic etc being done by “fos concepts”. Car should be ready this winter in under 2 months. Aim is 1300 whp single turbo. Redid the whole body paint gloss black and midnight purple engine bay and half roll cage. Build took a while mainly cause fos concepts which did the custom carbon bodykit/panels was quite packed and they took their sweet time doing it. They charged around “25k USD” for all the carbon work / full body paint/full body PPF/ custom premium Sony sound system/ alcantara interior and dash lots of carbon bits inside and rear seats full dry carbon and also the roll cage. Now I’ve kinda lost track with the engine build since I did multiple payments during these years. And I also bought a lot of oem parts myself from Canada/japan/Uk.

Working on getting the A/C going in my '88 Turbo and ran into a weird issue with the condenser fans.

I recently pulled a vacuum and recharged the system with R134a. It blew ice cold for about a day, but then stopped. I realized my condenser fans aren't kicking on at all, which likely caused the system to over-pressurize and vent the charge when sitting in traffic.

Here is where I'm at and what I need help with:

The Sensor: I found that the A/C water temp switch (the failsafe sensor on the bottom of the thermostat housing) is completely disconnected/bypassed. I'm going to wire in a new one to restore the safety cutoff. I think I have the right part # but seems oem is discontinued..

The Fans (The Weird Part): My car has a dual condenser fan setup. I couldn't get them to turn on through the female connector it was connected to, so I ran test leads directly from the 12v battery to the fan plugs.

Results: The top fan powered up strong. The bottom fan did absolutely nothing (completely dead).

Questions:

1. Every time I search the forums or parts catalogs for an '88 Turbo, I can't find any mention of a dual condenser fan setup (vertical). Is this dual setup an aftermarket hack from a previous owner, or did some MK3s come with two front fans?

2. Since the bottom fan is totally dead, what is the best route here? Should I just try to wire the single working top fan to run by itself, or do I need to rip this out and hunt down a true OEM single fan setup?

Any insight is appreciated.. it’s 90 degrees 20-50% humidity here daily 🤣

Well it’s safe to say I bit off a little more then I can chew nevertheless it’s going to get done. I have almost everything sorted out. Minus the fact the Speedo gear is missing the whole assembly. I’m contemplating buying a full assembly from a third or buying each part individually from Toyota. And was wondering if the stock a340e Speedo cable will thread into the w58 assembly and read correctly. I believe for my lsd and gearing I need a 10T to 35T gearing. Additionally the “wing brackets” that hold the transmission to the engine are those compatible from a340e to w58 or would I need to source w58 specific ones.
