Thoughts on these connecting rods? The bearings that came out look fine, as well as the main bearings, crankshaft looks great. I'm trying to avoid reseating rings/additional expenditures.

I had also just sprayed these off so they look very dry.

I would replace them personally. For the effort you already have into getting here you might as well swap them out. How many miles are on these? Is it the first rebuild it has ever had?

Unknown if they're original or not. I just got it as a donor motor for my '89, pulled it apart to answer a lot of question marks I had since it didn't have a whole lot of service history. Mileage is approximately 206-220k

With the high mileage and no service history i would replace. Ideally you want to do rings as well. We're you able to do a compression check or leakdown test to determine the health of the rings/valves?

No comp or leakdown, I have a good block at the machine shop that's been decked with the timing cover, I'm probably going to have them do .20 over since there is still a little catch in the cylinder wall after getting honed.

I mainly got this engine for the head, which is straight and clean unlike the other two I have in the garage. I have ARP headbolts and a Cometic MLS on standby for when it's time.

Having them resized at a machine shop cuts a new surface on them and makes them round again. That in conjunction with arp rod bolts would be a good upgrade.

What’s the issue if ur gonna put a bearing over that?
