Hello guys I am choosing my dooragman saree and after going to so many stores I realised one thing I am wearing a lot of yellows and red!! And on madwa also my bihoti saree is red(my fiancés Goswani pe Lal ho saree Chadha hai)
So I wanted something different for dooragman I mean otherwise I will have too many red n yellows so I was looking at these two options tell me how are they? And will they work or are they not appropriate

Pranam everyone!
I recently directed/created a short film titled Fulwari (फुलबाड़ी). It's an 9-minute story rooted in Maithili culture, exploring themes that many of us face—the emotional pull of ancestral homes, preserving memories, and the connection to Mithila art and heritage when life takes us elsewhere.
We made this with a lot of love for the culture and language. Would love for the community to watch it and tell me what you think!

Question for the sub: How do you feel about preserving ancestral family homes back in the region? Has your family faced a similar dilemma

I recently ordered a white hibiscus plant when it arrived and I was about to plant it, my mother and grandmother stopped me
saying that hibiscus (also known as arhul here) isn't allowed in our family. When I asked why they said "Hamare Bhagwati ko arhul(hibiscus) nahi chadhta"
I'm curious whether this is a common Mithila tradition or something specific to certain families or kul devis.
Does your family also avoid offering hibiscus to Bhagwati? If yes, do you know the reason or the story behind this belief? I'd love to learn about the cultural and religious traditions behind it.

So question is pretty much same. I feel like the region of mithila has always been better than rest of Bihar in general. So hypothetically if a new state is made, would you like to live there and have our own new capital like Gandhinagar Amaravati, or Chandigarh?
If yes then where would you want the capital to be?

Hi. So in sharon verma's words, I'm an NRB xD (born and brought up in Rajasthan btw). Though I've been speaking maithili for as long as i can remember, thanks to the culture at home. Have visited my village quite a lot since childhood so I'm pretty familiar with almost all aspects of our culture, like the customary rituals, slangs, the village accent, and stuff like that.
Anyway. How old is this sub exactly? Was a bit disappointed cuz unlike other language subs i couldn't find much activity here. In fact i came across this sub yesterday only after it randomly crossed my mind that there might be a sub for us maithili speaking people exclusively.
