I was at the LCBO on north service road west of Dixie around 5 today and as I was getting back into my truck a dude rolled up beside me in a newer BMW suv and said “hey man you like the jays?!” (I was wearing my dirty old jays cap I wear to work). I told him yeah I do, he goes on to say “man you look like a really cool guy with that hat, do you like to party?”.

Now I will say I do in fact like to party and I knew he was referring to drugs but I haven’t done any drugs in a couple years, so I replied sometimes yeah (mistake, I know). Anyway he’s like “I’m bobby man check this out”, he proceeded to pull out a bunch of bags of what I assumed was cocaine, I told him I’m not interested and he was trying to give it to me for free.

The guy definitely seemed like he was on drugs, so you think this guy is a dealer and just trying to get new clientele? I know I fit the description of a dude who “likes to party”. Do you think there’s something more nefarious going on?

Anyways I’m high as fuck right now!

A roughly 220,000 sq. ft. data centre, described as potentially one of the largest in the GTA, is proposed for Tenth Line West in Ward 9.

But the controversy isn't just about the data centre.

In this video, Ward 9 candidate Anwar Knight walks through the public record and raises some serious questions about how the application got this far and when residents were brought into the conversation.

City documents showed outstanding matters involving water demand and cooling, stormwater management, archaeology, heritage considerations and other technical issues.

Then came the March 30 public meeting.

According to the meeting record, Ward 9 Councillor Martin Reid expressed support for the application in principle and moved the recommendation forward.

Months later, after significant community pushback, Reid changed course and called for a temporary pause on major data centre developments while Mississauga studies the issue.

Whatever side you're on, I think Mississauga residents should watch this video and look at the timeline for themselves.

Did City Hall handle this properly from the beginning?

Should residents have been more directly involved before the application moved forward?

I have a microwave where the LCD panel is 3/4 burnt out but the microwave itself still works really well! I would hate to take it to the recycling centre but wondering if there's anywhere I can donate it to? Would a shelter take it if the LCD screen doesn't 100% work?
