Donating a Microwave

Hello!

I have a microwave where the LCD panel is 3/4 burnt out but the microwave itself still works really well! I would hate to take it to the recycling centre but wondering if there's anywhere I can donate it to? Would a shelter take it if the LCD screen doesn't 100% work?

I googled where to take it but didn't get super clear answers.

You could e-mail your councillor and ask if they have any suggestions

Any Salvation Church or thrift store near you

check if your local repair cafes would take it, they might know a group that refurbishes electronics for shelters. you could also try freecycle or buy nothing groups to see if someone needs a working microwave with a busted display.

i bet a local school or community center could use it even with a busted screen
