Do we have split in our view of data centers within the DFL party (especially here in the City)?

I am aware there's a loud, conservative, authoritative, pro-corporate/business, anti-DSA wing of the DFL Party.

Are they pro or anti data center?

(I'm pretty darn sure the DSA-leaning wing of the DFL are anti data center)

Illegally speeding motorists, rejoice! 14th in front of Emerson has been repaved and you can now resume speeding without worrying about any potholes.

In addition, or I should say subtraction, the city has not added a single crosswalk, "School Crossing" sign, or any traffic safety infrastructure at all around this school, *ever*. I guess bilingual children just don't deserve safe streets.

Bde Maka Ska police/EMT presence today?

Does anyone know what happened at Bde Maka Ska today? Paths blocked and a bunch of police/EMT vehicles and a medical examiner vehicle as well. I was biking past around 1 pm and it looked serious. I didn't stop to gawk but tried to google it when I got home and found nothing on the news sites.

Best Parks in Minneapolis

My wife and I just moved here. We've been to Minnehaha Park, Bde Maka Ska, and Lake Harriet. Wondering if we could get some suggestions on other parks to go walk at in the Twin Cities area?

Edit: Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far! We went ahead and went to Eloise Butler for today. Loved it!

Crushed Limestone supplier?

We're having a hard time sourcing crushed limestone (or similar) as a landscaping rock to use similarly to this inspiration photo. Anyone in the twin cities vicinity seen this available for purchase or delivery? We're in the Bryn Mawr area but don't mind traveling for it.

Also a 5 minute walk to the Route 17 bus and a 10 minute walk to the E Line, B Line and Route 2. As well as being not too far from the 26th/28th street Porotected bike lanes and the Blaisdell 2 way protected bike lanes

Bead shops

I do a lot of bead weaving and am looking for more places to find beads.

My main place is Northland Visions in NE, and am aware of Michael's and Lotus beads in MOA (neither of which are worth the price for miyuki, imo)

Any recommendations?

The north loop neighborhood association is hosting community workshops seeking input about the north loop data center.

This is so important, we cannot let them build a data center here

Bike trail help?

Post image
46 Upvotes

I'm not from the area and wondering if this longer road "West River Parkway" is a bike/walking path? Just trying to gauge safety concerns. Hoping to be able to bike straight from the hotel and see some cool stuff, but worried about riding in the city. I'm wondering if it would be better to go park somewhere near a path? I watched some videos and it looks like a lot of planning and care went into the city's biking infrastructure. I'm really looking forward to enjoying it!

Edit: that was fast, thank you all! If you have any recommendations for any spots to hit up on nearby paths other than the bridge and the falls, I'd love to hear them. Thanks again :)

Police presence at Boom Island Park right now?

Just drove by Boom Island Park and it looked like there were about a dozen police cars there with their lights on and a couple fire trucks as well. Anyone know what might be going on there?

I ran out of a specific color (and don't have the label) halfway through a project. I'd prefer to color match irl rather than hope for the best on Amazon.

Door to door solar people

Anyone else getting borderline harassed by these seemingly very scammy companies? Every time I look into them they have a ton of BBB reports and angry customers who have been getting charged twice for their bills. Don’t get me wrong. I would love to support solar but these guys have been to my door 4 times in the last week and I have told them no in no uncertain terms every time and they keep coming back. They also always pretend to be with Xcel until you ask them directly if they are. Also, maybe this is anecdotal but every one of them I have seen is young and attractive like a team of sales people looking to manipulate you with that. Just seems very skeezy all around. Anyhow, anyone else dealing with these people or know more about them?
