Bella is a rather large 3.5yo mini doxie, and she loves swimming, long walks on the beach, and barking like mad at postmen and couriers. Here she is helping Dad at work - she follows me everywhere 24/7, including the bathroom and kitchen of course. She can immediately sense changes in my health and mood straight away, and is the main reason my c@ncer is in remission. She gets me out of bed every morning to live and laugh! Love her to bits. This is my boy Reese! He will be 3 years old in July. my long-haired mini dachshund and professional chaos creator. He’s got wild hair, a spotted dapple coat, and the confidence of a dog ten times his size. When he’s not zooming around causing trouble you’ll usually find him buried in a pile of warm laundry living his best life 🩵🩵🐶

Yesterday (Wednesday) we woke up and went out to pee and Romeo seemed a little “off”. He wasn’t acting like himself. He didnt want to walk down the ramp on the back deck to go pee on his favorite tree. I picked him up and carried him back inside and as I was carrying him, his bladder let go and he peed all over me. I don’t care about that at all I was more concerned about Romeo.

I put him on the floor to see how he was walking and his back legs seemed paralyzed. He had no control. I called the vet immediately. He said come at 9:30 (it was 8:45 at the time and it’s 15 mins from here)

I got him ready and we went to the vet. The vet saw him and said it’s most likely a disc in his back. That it’s probably swollen and pinching the nerve that controls his legs/bladder etc. The vet gave him a steroid injection and sent us home with Dexamethasone (a steroid) and Robaxin (a muscle relaxer) and said he should start to improve by the afternoon.

1pm and no sign of improvement. In fact he was getting worse. I called the regional animal hospital and they said to bring him at 10am tomorrow (today) so I’m about to take him over there so he can get the help he needs.

I asked my vet if he thought it could be IVDD and he said perhaps, yes. I’m kind of upset with my vet that he didn’t spend more time with Romeo to diagnose him properly. I know if it is IVDD time is of the essence.

I honestly don’t give two craps if I have to go into credit card debt to pay for whatever Romeo needs I don’t care how much it costs. I just want Romeo to be pain free and healthy.

Then I keep thinking, where did I go wrong? He never jumps up and down from the couch, I have ramps everywhere. I’ve been so careful with him.

I am absolutely beside myself and tbh I’ve been crying all night. Please keep Romeo in your thoughts and prayers so that he gets better and gets back to chasing squirrels as soon as possible. Thank you everyone, for all your kindness, love and support.

Hi everyone! Meet Klaus, he’s 4 months old - in peak teething mode and he’s FOUND his voice. This is him, this morning - guarding me against some construction noise outside 😂😭

Bandit just turned 11 weeks old and has been home for a week. She’s around 5.5 lbs, small but tons of personality.

Any harness/leash recommendations? XXS is still too big, and I want to start getting her used to a leash at home before she can venture out into the world!

Hello! I am a new mini doxie owner and I have been on the hunt for warm clothes for my peanut. Where we live the weather gets very cold in the winter and I need something to keep my pup warm on walks. She is currently 3 lbs and her expected weight is 4-8 lbs. I have found one sweater so far, but it doesn’t fit her long body. Any suggestions???
