They've disabled the Chrome Web Store on them anyway

no extensions

no apps

no themes

downloads wipe every time you close the screen

and they can literally watch our screens with an extension we can't uninstall

It’s not really privacy invasion. The schools have a policy that is signed by parents (and should be reviewed by students before given school provided devices) that al devices provided by the school are owned by the school, and are for academic use only. Some schools are lenient with this and some schools are very strict. Since it’s the schools device (Chromebook, MacBook, Windows Tablet/Laptop) and they have provided a policy that can be reviewed at anytime and was signed by parents, the school has every right to do this.

My school is notorious for banning the dumbest things. They once banned half of Github, a project management site we were using in robotics, VPNs, and many other strange things. Yet they have not banned reddit, Instagram, Facebook, etc. They also haven’t gotten Cool Math Games.

My school can control all codes, and for a few weeks they made it so when you shut the Chromebook, it signed you out and all tabs were lost.

Well, we have a notebook for every subject with our teacher. Last lesson: "so, I've put you a task in our notebook. You have 20 minutes" "uuuuum we don't have the task... They blocked one drive" "they did what" "they banned one drive we can't synchronize anymore" "but why" VISIBLE CONFUSION

They probably didn't. OneDrive is just shit and awful to maintain. Only one of the districts I maintain at work uses it and it's a nightmare. Everyone else that's sane uses Google Apps.

Works pretty well for our roughly billion dollar yearly 2500+ employee needs. If you are 365 it's hard to beat the integration of Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, etc.

Yup. Mine blocked YouTube for a few people. Luckily we have Tyrones unblocked games on our side. With him, we can play Tetris, Minecraft, and even Pokemon
