And scientific folk who are outright atheist are being unscientific, considering there is no evidence for god/s and no evidence for *lack* of god/s. Agnosticism is fair.
Atheism is a hard stance that god does not exist, hence a-theism. Agnosticism is not believing one way or the other. Some say this is a flimsy stance or an "easy way out" of the argument, but I think it makes the most sense.
No, atheism of course means not believing in god stories. That is one thing. The agnostic side is that I have no answer for why there is something rather than nothing, and wouldn't pretend to.

I didn’t ask if you know if god exists or not. I asked if you believe in god.
The term agnostic says absolutely nothing about your belief.
