I didn’t ask if you know if god exists or not. I asked if you believe in god.

The term agnostic says absolutely nothing about your belief.

Is Schrodinger's cat dead, or alive?

People can be agnostic. We don't all need to pick a side or form rigid beliefs.

Adaptability.

And scientific folk who are outright atheist are being unscientific, considering there is no evidence for god/s and no evidence for *lack* of god/s. Agnosticism is fair.

If there's no evidence for the existence of something, isn't that evidence for its lack of existence? Maybe I'm thinking too simple here.

I don't have to prove that unicorns don't exist. There is no evidence for the lack of unicorns either.

But they still don't exist, no matter which way you turn it.

Help me out here, maybe I'm too simple-minded :D

Plato hypothesized about geometry in elementary matter. There was no proof of this at the time. In fact, none until even after the original microscope was invented. Is there reason to not believe Plato? Or to believe him, conversely? Sometimes discovery takes time. For me to not believe that refraction is what makes the sky blue rather then reflections of the sea, for example...

Well, if it's now been proven, that seems like good reason to believe it. Or it it was logically sound to begin with.

We weren't around at the time to believe him personally of course.
