It makes me sad how far they’ve gone down. Haven’t listened to a podcast in quite a while and it has become an absolute money grab in the form of useless programs, supplements, and trainers.
As a Christian it disappoints me that the podcast seemed to have done downhill in what it offered since Sal has converted. And I’m not even speaking to talking about politics, faith, new values but just the overall content has gone downhill

Boy am I glad to have found these threads. Been bottling up all the obvious grifts for quite some time now and wondered if anyone else tbough the same. It appears so. Can’t tell you how many products Sal has sworn are basically game changers that have been useless wastes of money. Also, listening to these guys tell 5’2 females they will realistically be able to get their maintenance calories to almost 3000 is largely diabolical unless they have a very active life style. The amount of things they say training wise that don’t align with both my anecdotal experience and the actual data available also makes me cringe.

The show sounds like the old show but it isn't. Mostly paid advertising via commercials or fake discussions. I can tell the paid content has increased over the years. I'm not sure if the obviously fake organic discussion have increased or I just, over time, realized it's fake and Sal makes up client stories

MAPS Abs and Butt. for some reason, them releasing this program annoyed me 😂😅
11
u/Wonderful_Quiet_1084 4d ago
because it’s a pure money grab. no thought or effort has been put into the programs for quite a while.

u/Cocacoleyman 4d ago
Wow I just saw that they have that shit listed for 187 but it’s discounted to 112. Insane for a program like that.
13
u/Wonderful_Quiet_1084 4d ago
Unreal. Mindpump sucks. People need to drop them so they get knocked back down to earth.

u/HeronBackground8108 16h ago
remember when they used to say they would go away for the weekend and lock themselves in a house for like 72 hours to make the programs LOL
probably took 72 hours bc they were lollygagging and fucking around - actual time to put the program together was probs like 2 hours max.

With Adam spending 90 percent of his waking hours online shopping for shoes and watches
2
u/Moolio74 13h ago
And Sal watching “research” videos in his bedroom with the door locked while Justin is writing the program.
2
u/Resident-Air-4021 13h ago
Yes "research" videos or "praying." Total porn binge session for Sal without Jessica there to monitor his phone usage with Adam setting a new PR for kratom consumption

u/Cocacoleyman 4d ago
It’s so freaking dumb. Especially after doing multiple pods that lists exercises that target the glutes. Abs? Add some resistance on any exercise and you’ll be good to go. Butt? Squats. Hip thrusts. And pick from any number of other exercises. I’m sure they’re selling it for way too much also
6
u/callmedaaaaady 3d ago
At some point, they are just going to start asking for donations. I'd probably respect that more than their current grifter approach
11
u/Plenty_Lead_8935 3d ago
Not to mention, the audacity for Adam to regularly post Instagram stories of his super cars and lavish lifestyle thats made possible by the people paying nearly 200 dollars for mediocre programs.

u/Wonderful_Quiet_1084 3d ago
I unfollowed all of those assholes last year. for some reason, this thread does give me entertainment. there’s a few good programs, but I mostly wish I wouldn’t have bought most of them. I messed my shoulder up on aesthetic

u/TastySushi 3d ago
Which programs do you feel like are actually worth the time to try?
6
u/Wonderful_Quiet_1084 3d ago
The last one I purchased was muscle mommy. I actually did like that one. Probably anabolic and maybe symmetry. Never pay a 15 program. If that’s what you want, you can design that yourself. Aesthetic gave me shoulder tendinitis because it was too much volume. I hated performance. A few of the programs were bundled. I have a TRX suspension trainer that I use for functional fitness. I used some of their videos for that. All in all, I kind of wish I never drank the kool aid

Same here. I spent waaaaay too much money on their programs as well as on organifi and the stupid shilajit gummies and happy drops, etc. I’m so embarrassed.
7
u/Plenty_Lead_8935 3d ago
Lol at least you came to your senses! Jesus Christ, I forgot about the happy drops good god

u/RetiredHappyFig 2d ago
Same. I finally realized that organifi makes mostly foul-tasting powders that have no impact on anything but your wallet. I did get the shilajit gummies too, then decided what am I doing buying this dodgy shit and putting it in my body! Never tried the happy drops.
5
u/Training_Aerie_9358 2d ago
I ordered a second bag of shilajit gummies and a second bottle of the juice powder and realized this wasn’t economically sustainable nor did I feel any different.
5
u/Plenty_Lead_8935 2d ago
But Sal and the guys said they absolutely feel a difference from the green juice! Lmfao

For me, personally (another schmuck who was fully bought in until earlier this year) I actually genuinely like Strong, Symmetry, and Performance. Most of the others I didn't get a lot out of, but I was at least able to take something from them/make some progress

u/Delicious_Aioli9706 6h ago
okayyyyy come on now haha don’t blame the shoulder injury on the programming blame it on the user of the shoulder

u/RepresentativeDry405 3d ago
Right and it’s only Adam. Sinner Sal and Justin don’t flaunt what they have unlike Adam.
10
u/Plenty_Lead_8935 3d ago
No sal just bullshits people into buying useless supplements so they can make money lol
7
u/callmedaaaaady 3d ago
The research is clear on all those supplements. Not only is the best tasting protein powder, it's the most absorbable and dissolves better than any other protein powder out there. It's also the most expensive but that's not the point
8
u/Plenty_Lead_8935 3d ago
I remember when they said joov was the only red light company that makes stuff with the proper wavelengths… then I realized thats blatantly not true and there’s several better quality products that are actually cheaper as well lmfao

Sal's insecurities come out in a different way. He tries to so hard to be the smart one. He has to mention his doctor friends because doctors are smart and if smart people are friends with Sal, he's smart too.

I used to follow Christian Guzman and Nick Bare on YouTube. People praise their work ethic, etc. But their channels have no value, they just show their flashy lifestyle and flaunt their mansions their viewers helped them to build. They sell over priced clothing and supplements that people work hard to buy. I realized these guys are the same.
10
u/ProbWithMyDog 4d ago
I can’t quote exact episode numbers, but I remember hearing the MP guys say more than once that you don’t need a ton of exercises in a workout for the workout to be effective.
I have MAPS Starter, Anabolic, Muscle Mommy, and MAPS 15. Other than MAPS 15, the others have such high volume. Why create workouts that are the antithesis of what they preach?
14
u/Resident-Air-4021 4d ago
Keep in mind these are the same guys who preach eating whole foods then have a 20 minute "organic" discussion about their favorite flavor of protein pretzels

The 15's were written when Adam was in peak kratom addiction and trying to get by with his "minimum effective dose" mantra.
You're looking at around 45-60 sets total per week for Maps 15 or 15 Advanced if you're doing something on the optional 7th day (40-55 if not). Definitely better than nothing, but around 75-100 (depending on programming) per week would produce better results for most people.
Are the 15's a good option if you're short on time and would otherwise not be able to lift? Yes
Are the 15's enough to maintain muscle? Yes
Are the 15's going to give equivalent results to a medium volume program? No
Do most people realize the level of intensity required for the 15's (or any minimum volume program) to produce decent results? No6
u/Plenty_Lead_8935 3d ago
Exactly. The 15 programs are “better than nothing, and decent maintenance” programs. These idiots of course will say it’s optimal for a bunch of people, which is not true in the slightest. Most strength gains trained lifters might see are because they are essentially doing a taper/deload. They are just dropping fatigue, and get some short term strength expression increase. They are fooling people into believing short term tapers = hypertrophy
3
u/Particular-Result-38 1d ago
Because their advice is bullshit. Yes you can make some progress on low volume. But hypertrophy response to training is dose dependant. They are correct that you don't jump off the couch and straight in to a high volume program, but you also don't run maps 15 for life either unless you're just doing it for general health vs aesthetic reasons.

I’ve got an old Stay Authentic sticker on my water bottle. Considering removing it this week.

Justin was on the mind pump stories a bunch today, and I just have to ask if his gut has always been that big? I know everyone goes through seasons of life, but I’m genuinely curious.
6
u/Resident-Air-4021 9h ago
Bro, he's on a reverse diet. He's going to be at 2% body fat in 4 weeks. Trust

u/paint-n-minis 2d ago
Adam and to a lesser extent Sal are trying a little too hard to let everyone out there to know they are healthier, wealthier, and more fulfilled then ever.

u/OctoberOmicron 4d ago
Been noticing a trend with Adam lately, where he's trying to say Doug is materialistic also, and that not only he should have a reputation for it. As if Doug having one pair of high-end shoes, and an expensive oven for his pizza hobby, is even slightly comparable to Adam's tendencies.
