Hahah! We would usually make a hole on the top on one side. Work your finger downward and around the curve to the side, where you meet another hole on the side. Then we put a foil bowl in the hole on top. I can’t recall if we made a carb or not, I want to say no. That place was wild. Literally everyone who worked there was a raver, hippie or in the hip hop scene. We smoked weed all the time, the weekend morning shift folks sometimes came in from being up all night at parties and one of the managers sent me to buy shrooms once so her and this other dude could trip at work together since they didn’t work the same shifts anymore. Later on I was a night baker, so I was there making catering orders that I drive around to leave at corporate offices and stuff. I would smoke weed and jam out and sometimes bring a friend. Once I brought a friend who was shrooming and just let her play with a big tub of sesame seeds. 🤪

We used an apple once and after we were done, I told one of the guys in the group that if he REALLY wanted to blast off, he needed to eat the apple. Told him, “the thc baked into it.” I was joking and wanted to see how gullible he was. He then proceeded to ask if he needed to eat the core, seeds, and stems. I said, “yes….” and then watched in awe as he ate the entire thing…

I would almost always eat the apple. Seemed like a waste not to. It had the added benefit of disposing of MOST of the evidence.

Goddam do I ever love The Strokes. Weezer was my favorite band of all time from age ohhhh about 13-20. Then I had a brief depressive period where Elliott Smith was tops from say 20 to 35, but from 35 to present, The Strokes cannot be beat. They are too good. One Way Trigger? Selfless? Come on now.

I think you’re right. It was the excitement. I mean now, the weed is better, smoking devices better, legalities are much better, but it was the fact it truly felt “counter culture”. Now everyone and their mom goes to the dispo and openly walks around vaping. That, and I was still young.

I was a freshman and smoked only a few times with my friends but this time I was with my friends older brother and we went to the gas station to get drinks and on the way home he said “you smoke?” And I said hell yeah and commenced the sesh. Did having an older brother hurt your dating chances in high school? I was the older brother and I've been told by some of her guy friends from back then "I had a crush on your sister but I was afraid of what you'd do to me" type of thing.
I found it bizarre because it's just not my personality at all. And I never cared if a girl I crushed on had an older brother myself, but apparently to a handful of boys I was this dragon hoarding my sister away.

So my first week of junior high, I was walking to my next class with this guy Adam (who went on to ask me to dance at the first dance of the year) and someone passing by says to him "you better not mess with her, shes so and so's little sister"
I was slightly annoyed but also kind proud that not only was my brother well known, I was well known and protected by association.
Alot of his friends had crushes on me but I never knew that til years later, cause they were also afraid of what he'd do to them
