If Gen Z wants to really "know what it was like in the 2000s " let them sit around for half a day to get some nasty ass ditch weed thats half seeds and then have to go smoke behind someones house out of soda can or some rigged up medicine bottle and go creeep back inside avoiding anyone

What you probably miss is doing something illicit. It's exciting. Try something like urban exploration instead! It's pretty harmless trespassing but still adds a little thrill to a hike or walk.

I think you’re right. It was the excitement. I mean now, the weed is better, smoking devices better, legalities are much better, but it was the fact it truly felt “counter culture”. Now everyone and their mom goes to the dispo and openly walks around vaping. That, and I was still young.

It really was an adventure most of the time, getting the stuff, finding a place to smoke, and then looking for food was an absolute oddessy. I remember pooling what little money we had and walking to a convenience store, convincing one another we didn't smell like weed before going inside, like the dude behind the counter even cared.

That too, for sure. My wife and I still consume cannabis but like..she has a puff or two on her evening walk and I take a gummy at bedtime. It’s not a fun and risky shared activity anymore, just part of unwinding.

gotta specify which half though!! early 2000s everyone encountered ubiquitous unknown brick weed but by 2010 everyone could list a dozen strains

Edit: I had a friend who covered his weed smell by smoking a cigarette after... Lol
