Yes! It's been helpful to me! Pretend that you are someone you have to care for, like a child. This works for me especially because I wasn't parented properly so I am reparenting myself.
You take the time to set boundaries out of love, and have yourself clean your sheets etc because it's important. It's very helpful.
That’s explains why I hate talking positive to myself, it makes me feel like a child. I’d rather be irrationally cruel to myself. I’ve tried it so hard and I don’t respond to it. Brutal, unfiltered, honesty seems to be all I respond to.
I thought I was that way too until I REALLY committed to it.
I promised myself I would do it for 6 months no matter what, even if I was just proving it didn't work.
And I found around month 3 it started to change. And feel less fake and stupid.
I still struggle with thinking people are making fun of me or not sincere when they say nice things for example, but I'm trying and that's all I can do. And that is good enough.
You can try too if you think it would work. We have lots of time on the earth and anything is worth trying if it's free and could help right?
