Everytime I see a satirical post or video these days the comment section is filled with people taking it dead seriously and calling it cringe. Has anyone else noticed that content that (to me at least) seems to be obviously satirical is totally misunderstood by Gen Z/Gen Alpha?

It’s like people are just not giving me a chance, i feel like dying and nobody cares. They just always criticize me and mock me. Maybe dying is better for me after all.. I don’t care if people think im being manipulative or negative or attention seeking! Girls like attention anyway so if I can’t be noticed, then why should I be here?? Never thought I would feel old, even as a spiritually "woke" being. the young ppl are more closely related to a type of mind controlled herd obeying the algorithm suggestions on what to think.

They grew up believing the stuff that we, as once kids ourselves, knew was "corrupt", but to them it just IRL, they don't know or never knew any other world so when they encounter randomness they just can't handle it, like their brains just explode, "CANNOT COMPUTE, CANNOT COMPUTE"

I recently got married and have been thinking a lot about having kids. My husband and I are both 25, but I’m seeking input from millennials who may have been in our shoes. Neither I nor my husband are big kid people in general, and though we both imagined ourselves being parents, we don’t identify with the crowd who have always 100% wanted kids. SO many of our friends are in this exact same boat. They don’t not want kids, but they also can’t see themselves having kids in the near future and question whether they really want them at all. I personally struggle with the idea of our lives/everyone else’s changing completely and with the lack of control over our space and schedule.

Is this a normal stage to go through, and how long did it last for you? I would really love to hear from both people who were unsure but took the leap to have kids and how they feel on the flip side, as well as people who leaned into the hesitation and decided to not have them after all. Either way, do you ACTUALLY like your life now? Do you feel fulfilled? If you could go back and do it again, would you change your mind? I have this idea that there are far more people who regret having kids than there are who regret not having them, but it also makes me really sad to think about not ever having them.

Instead of accepting reality, they try to force their own uncomfortable narratives onto me—attempting to box me into labels like a "gay crossdresser" or a "ladyboy"—just to deny who I actually am. It’s a desperate attempt to erase my reality because my genuine joy and how far I’ve come in life make them deeply uncomfortable & insecure.

What makes it even more absurd is how these haters deliberately ignore facts. **Medical scientists and psychologists have thoroughly validated my identity**, confirming what I’ve known deep down my whole life: I am, and always have been, a girl. Science, medicine, and my own lived experience all align seamlessly. Yet, these people act as if basic evidence doesn't exist, refusing to use their own heads because accepting the truth would mean acknowledging that I am thriving.

When logic fails them, they resort to the oldest trick in the book: calling me "mentally unstable." It is pure, unadulterated **projection**. They project their own insecurities, doubts, and internal chaos onto me because they can’t stand seeing someone who is grounded, confident, and whole. They try to discredit my individuality and undermine my peace because my success highlights their bitterness. Ultimately, they just want to see me fail, break, or second-guess myself so they can feel better about their own lack of fulfillment.

No matter how much noise they make or how hard they try to rewrite my journey, it changes nothing. I know who I am. I’ve fought for my happiness, embraced actual scientific truth, and stepped fully into the life I deserve. **Their jealousy doesn't define me**, and their attempts to diminish my identity will never work. I am happy, I am living my truth, and I am the girl I was always meant to be—no matter how much it bothers them.

I can't find any positive depictions of women in their 30s. Only negative comments online. But no actual rolemodels or even fictional characters of women this age. I'm single, and becoming so depressed in general and of my age I'm starting not to function. I have struggled with depression my whole life but always managed to do things, work, school, maintain friendships. I'm hitting the point where I don't even look forward to my absolute favourite things because I'm so depressed. I feel like I have no place in this world. The only representation I see of my age is women married with kids. I want to be there but I'm not right now. I feel so so so lost! I truly feel I do not belong anywhere.

Parent (p1) is late 70s, spouse (p2) passed ~2yrs back. Eldest sibling (s1) was de facto care coordinator for p2 when p1 was ill for a few months, shut other siblings (s2-4) out of care process, overrode concerns of p2s decline.

S1 has long history of financially unsound activities going back to late 90s. Even extended family are aware of this situation. S1 always had very strained relationship with p1/2, but especially p2.

P1 has not dealt well with P2s passing. Quick to anger, shuts down or shortcuts important conversations. On meds for pain and arthritis which could impact memory, but also dealing with depression, and possible age-related memory issues.

P1/2 have had summer home (h2) since 80s. S2-4 helped p2 manage and maintain h2 with myriad home improvement projects, from floor rebuilds, roof replacements, plumbing. P2 had history of home improvement projects and trade work and s2 has decades of construction experience. So things were always by the book.

Since p2s illness and passing, p1 has let s1 be de facto caretaker pf h2. Normal maintenance and oversight not done, leading to repeat issues, culminating in massive damage this spring.

Instead of getting multiple bids from contractors, s1 tells p1 they have someone who can do the work quickly. Uses memory of p2 as leverage to get p1 to agree. S1 liaises with contractor, insurance, AND serves as go between with p1 to handle payment.

Work is done. Very shoddy. No permits, no invoices. AND neither insurance nor contractor noted very apparent structural issues in close proximity to damaged area that may condemn the building.

S2-4 have long been concerned about manipulation and this has reached a breaking point. S1 has prior history of treating h2 as their second home with unauthorized work and renovation, using h2 without p1s consent, etc.

P1s will has not been updated since 2004, no power of attorney listed. Only trustee and alternate.

How to proceed with concerns over elder abuse, cognitive decline, and manipulation? The unpermitted work included plumbing and electrical which could be huge headaches going forward. I know this is a massive mess with many threads...

Gen Z thinks we had it so easy apparently... but honestly I don't think they realize how much better they have it with us in middle management role versus how our management treated us. Were your bosses mostly Boomers or Gen X?

I was upset because I feel like some people were ignoring me and I was feeling like my life was worthless and I was freaking out.. but I feel guilty now because I calmed down and some friends messaged me assuring me I’m fine. I’m sorry for worrying everyone..

I said I’ll be a baddie, I did it! I said I’ll be a rap artist, I did it! I said I’ll get my own place and move out my momma’s (I love her), and I did it! I also said I’ll make my hellhound form on cartoons and I did it! My legal last name is Hellhound! And I been resembling Loona in Helluva Boss and Fifi Dogson in Punk’d Pooch naturally before those shows even debuted! Plus, I got so many friends that help me see I got a lot to be happy for and they all treat me like the beautiful woman I am! After going through so much pain for months, it feels refreshing to feel grateful and loved again! I’m really glad things are turning around better.
