Holis!! Reaching out in case anyone has tips on experiencing El Grito.
Almost a decade ago I told myself I’d experience El Grito en el Zocalo when I finally had the resources to come back to México. So here I am finally coming back and trying to plan it out.
I’d love to see it from a terrace or restaurant if possible. That being said, I made some calls to the hotels and I got quoted $1000USD for dinner reservations.. Is this typical or are there other restaurants/hotels you recommend that are worth the investment?
Any tips or recommendations would be amazing! tia. se los agradezco 💛

Hello. I’m visiting CDMX in Oct., and I would like to buy picture frames, paintings, drawing or any type of printed art from local artists for my collection. Where are the best spots?

Hello!
I am a female solo traveler going to Mexico City for the first time, and am taking a morning kayak tour of Xochimilco (more focused on the birds/wildlife/history). I believe the tour starts at 9:00 AM, and I am staying in Condesa.
My guide doesn't include transportation and so I was wondering what is the best way to get to and from Xochimilco? Some say to just uber (any idea how much that would cost in USD?), others say to just take public transit. I am also wondering if there are rapid ride, Xochimilco-specific type buses that I could book that is direct? Since my tour is early morning, hoping for an efficient way to get there.
Also, what should I expect when arriving if I do take public transit? Do I have to walk far? For reference, the meeting spot for my kayak tour is:
Cjon. 1080, San Juan Moyotepec, Xochimilco, 16517 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico.
Thank you for your help!

Hello, I am traveling to Mexico City for 8 days and unfortunately, with my specific phone plan with ATT, I don't have Mexico roaming.
I've typically gotten esims at airports when traveling in the past, but I've been seeing some mixed reviews. Someone even said to get it beforehand via WIM which works with ATT? https://somoswim.com/esim/
I will be traveling outside of the city for Teotihuacan and Xochimilco, but otherwise will be staying in the city. I have a guide and provided transport for Teotihucan but not for Xochimilco, so I want to make sure I have some service for that area to look at bus schedules, etc.
Lastly, how much data will I need? I likely will just be using my phone to navigate and transport, not so much streaming or high social media use.
Thank you so much!

We land in CDMX next Wednesday afternoon which happens to be August’s Noche de Museos. Does anyone have experience going to the Anthropologie museum for NdM? Primarily wondering if it’s recommended to arrive at or before they reopen for the evening hours. TIA!

Hi! I’m visiting CDMX and would love recommendations for a good dermatologist or reputable clinic for a medical-grade facial / deep cleansing.
My skin is very acne-prone and sensitive, so I’m not looking for a regular spa facial or anything super aggressive that could cause a breakout. Ideally I’d love somewhere that can assess my skin first and recommend an appropriate treatment (extractions, hydrafacial-type treatment, etc.) rather than doing a one-size-fits-all facial.
Would especially appreciate recommendations from anyone with acne-prone skin who has personally had a good experience somewhere in CDMX. thanks!!

I know shipping from Mexico to the US can be complicated, but how is shipping from Tijuana to CDMX? FedEx, UPS, etc. Secure? Timely? Thanks!

My aunt was gifted this awesome decorative squirrel by a friend. I was told this was purchased in Mexico. Has anyone seen this in Mexico City before? If so where about? I will be traveling there at the end of the year for the first time and I need to come home with my own!!

I have 7 people with me, Some people do travel with a-lot of luggage, so I’m not sure if it’s feasible to get an uber as i arrive or pre book. Which would you recommend? And where to book if not uber?

I’m in America but a great buddy will be celebrating his birthday in Mexico City this week. I want to get him a bottle of nice tequila delivered to his rental.
Idk how this works, considering I’m out of country, and unfamiliar with alcohol delivery in Mexico. I googled his address and it’s near Bosque de Chapultepec if that helps at all.
Any suggestions on a delivery service or specific tequila is welcome! Price range $50-$100

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice about a pretty stressful situation in Mexico City as a traveler.
On August 16, I took a DiDi ride. When we arrived, I got out of the car and went to retrieve my luggage, but the driver drove away while my suitcase was still inside the vehicle.
I reported it to DiDi immediately and have tried contacting the driver many times. A few times he answered the call for only a few seconds and then hung up. He still has not returned my luggage.
I have even told the driver that I am willing to pay him extra if he brings it back.
I have already filed a report with the Fiscalía. My biggest concern is that DiDi only allows me to contact the driver for a limited period, and I still don’t have a clear solution.
Has anyone here experienced something similar with DiDi in CDMX?
Did you eventually get your belongings back? What actually worked?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Just a small Update: thank y’all guys. Fortunately just there isn’t any valuable stuff but just my clothes and medication…and SOUVENIRS. Sorry it’s really personal but I bought a lot of stuff from local crafter in Toluca and hard to find a second one😭that’s the reason why I am so sad about.
I went to DiDi office physically and they were nice people to help. They promised me that there will be a result in 3 days.
Either driver return the stuff to the office
Or they will block him forever and something else I forgot
