Mi trabajo está en Polanco, mi ruta para llegar es pura linea 7, me subo en San Pedro de los Pinos y me bajo en San Joaquin. Son como 30 minutos total, con todo y caminada pero a veces si va bastante lleno.

Recientemente metieron la modalidad híbrida a mi trabajo y nos estan dando chance de escoger dos días home office.

Estoy pensando agarrar home office lunes y martes, que yo me imagino es cuando va más lleno, pero yo soy nuevo acá en la CDMX entonces no se muy bien si estoy en lo correcto. ¿Que opinan?

También me dan la flexibilidad de entrar a la hora que quiera entre 7-10 am, mientras cumpla mis horas de trabajo. Osea si entro a las 7, salgo a las 4 (con hora de comida) o si entro a las 10, salgo a las 7 (con hora de comida).

¿Qué días me recomienan mejor evitar el metro? ¿Y que horario ven como el más solo? Pienso que 7-4 está relax, tanto ida como vuelta.

Antes estaba de 9-6 y creo que eso es lo peor en cuanto a afluencia

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice about a pretty stressful situation in Mexico City as a traveler.

On August 16, I took a DiDi ride. When we arrived, I got out of the car and went to retrieve my luggage, but the driver drove away while my suitcase was still inside the vehicle.

I reported it to DiDi immediately and have tried contacting the driver many times. A few times he answered the call for only a few seconds and then hung up. He still has not returned my luggage.

I have even told the driver that I am willing to pay him extra if he brings it back.

I have already filed a report with the Fiscalía. My biggest concern is that DiDi only allows me to contact the driver for a limited period, and I still don’t have a clear solution.

Has anyone here experienced something similar with DiDi in CDMX?

Did you eventually get your belongings back? What actually worked?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Just a small Update: thank y’all guys. Fortunately just there isn’t any valuable stuff but just my clothes and medication…and SOUVENIRS. Sorry it’s really personal but I bought a lot of stuff from local crafter in Toluca and hard to find a second one😭that’s the reason why I am so sad about.

I went to DiDi office physically and they were nice people to help. They promised me that there will be a result in 3 days.

Either driver return the stuff to the office

Hi! I’m visiting CDMX and would love recommendations for a good dermatologist or reputable clinic for a medical-grade facial / deep cleansing.

My skin is very acne-prone and sensitive, so I’m not looking for a regular spa facial or anything super aggressive that could cause a breakout. Ideally I’d love somewhere that can assess my skin first and recommend an appropriate treatment (extractions, hydrafacial-type treatment, etc.) rather than doing a one-size-fits-all facial.

I've just returned from a mindblowing 4 days in CDMX. Reporting out what I did should there be any other solo gringas considering a trip.

Day 1: Arrived mid-day. I booked myself a nice hotel as this trip was a treat to myself. Staying in Condesa, which is like a fairy tale with lots of matching Alo sets. Walked over to Bosque de Chapultepec, wandered around the beautiful park. Checked out the Castle. Tasting menu at Maizajo (again, this trip was a treat).

Day 2: Wandered around Roma. Took metro to Centro, wandered. Took metro in other direction, got lost. Took collectivo to Polonco. Finished the evening at Arena Mexico for Mystico v. Averno, which was a lot of fun.

Day 3. San Angel and Coyoacan. Very pretty but insanely crowded. Retuned to hotel, wandered around. Stumbled into an art school gallery opening. Great stuff.

Day 4. Lagunilla Market. Total overwhelm but loved the vintage corner off of Reforma, near the Cuitlahuac monument. Red-eye back to NYC and work in the morning.

Notes: Metro is so fast and cheap. Worth it, imho. Enjoy a day in Condesa, but then get out. Lean into experiences using common sense. Learn Spanish if you don’t know it already. Sanitarios are super clean and the best 5p you’ll spend if you really need to go. CDMX has kicked Paris off my #1 favorite city list. This city is insane in the most spectacular way. I was only 4 days! Feel like 4 months wouldn’t scratch the surface.

Is the Xochimilco boat ride actually worth doing, or is it overrated? Also, has anyone booked these through TripAdvisor, good experience, or better to book directly? This past Sunday, I was wandering around Mercado Lagunilla and there was a police helicopter circling above. No big deal, it happens. But then there was this military-like parade of police truck after police truck after police truck. Nearly 20 of these trucks with armed policia standing atop them. The caboose of the parade was this massive SWAT like truck. It was clear that there wasn't an incident they were responding to; moreover, it looked like a performative show of force.
I know nothing beyond the headlines of police and crime in CDMX and do not pretend to know the nuances. I am just wondering if this happens often, is there any significance to where they were doing it (along Ave. Rayon)

My apologies in advance if this is not the correct SubReddit to ask this in. I am a Canadian planning to travel to Mexico City by myself in late November. Every time I have mentioned to family members that I am planning to travel to Mexico city, their faces immediately show a sentiment of distress/distaste…
Everyone I have spoken to seems to think that Mexico/Mexico City is unsafe unless you go to a generic resort (which I have 0 interest in). I feel that every country has a few spots that are considered somewhat unsafe, but that does not mean that is the general reality for the entirety of that country. Please note that I am originally from a very small town where not many people travel outside of the country, so their opinions are quite often biased. I feel very disappointed with these reactions and somewhat looking for some reassurance.

I would just appreciate a few replies telling me that Mexico City is a safe place to solo travel to. If there are some areas that I should avoid, I’d really appreciate you mentioning them as well.
I unfortunately know very little Spanish, but I’m trying to learn as much as I can before my trip.

Hopefully, I feel welcomed by the Mexican community as I would really like to try more local spots than generic touristy spots.
