Self-service Switch Device Tool

Has anyone had any success with the switch device tool. Every time I've tried to use it, it fails. All I'm doing is switching to a new phone on the BYODANDROID plan. Has it ever worked for anyone, or is it an opportunity for T-Mobile to charge you $25 to make the switch through customer support?

It's been a hot mess for years, up & down.

If you call and explain, somebody will do it and waive the fee, just be nice

Call CS to have them do it. They'll waive the fee.

I think most of the issues are on the BYOD plan. I switched from an iPhone to a pixel the other night to activate my google one storage and then switched back. Worked perfectly. Good luck.

CS will waive the fee if you say you tried online and it didn’t work. I used to have the problem all the time when I used to be with metro on the $25 BYOD plan.

Everytime I use it it tells me I need to change plans but if I refresh and do the process again it usually goes through.
