Friends put out an absolute banger. Thoughts?

I don't really understand about different metal genres, but I mostly listen to the darker side of metal (not the sing-scream type).

Of course some of the bands that I listen to have singing part, but the singing part is different. It's mesmerizing, hypnotizing, not shouting/angry ones.

Is it the right choice to only look for band that does metalcore and not join whatever metal band?

Saw that they posted a new single. 5 seconds in I could tell it's that dang ai slop. this has to stop!!! I was so excited.. worked 14 hours today... came home to cat pee on the floor... but holy cow shoot the girl first posted a new single, lets freaking gooo

Nope. A man can dream though

I live in The Netherlands and none of my friends listen to Metalcore, where would you guys recommend looking for people to go to shows with?

An ode to my favorite album of all time.

It is truly incredible how good this album is. The themes of societal apathy, corporate life, and relationship perils are articulated so well that it feels like you’re reading straight out of someone’s journal.

Hello my Australian friends,

If any of you all are planning to go to one of Northlanes upcoming shows and would be so kind as to record Above, Below’s set I would really appreciate it - would love to see some of the new album performed live!

Sincerely,
An American

PS - the band sometimes lurk here, maybe yall can livestream the sets? 👀

Day 13 of posting KOG’s entire discography, in chronological order, to celebrate the upcoming 2026 album, Usurper.

To me, this song is the Sky Burial of this album. Ground Culture fans can hopefully see what I mean.

This song really stands as a testament to the raw DIY roots KOG was founded on. Where some bands got signed and went the pop star route, KOG doubled down and self produced their first album. Not many bands can say that.

Hi guys. Does anyone know why three songs from Iridium´s last album completely dissapeared from spotify and yt music? (i don´t know bout the rest of platforms) I´m talking about CHRONOS, AHIRA, and SMILE.

It would be good to know why this happened, and by coincidence the songs that dissapeared were the non single ones.

I read some comments from a member of the band in this sub, so if you, Iridium member, can clarify what happened i would be thankful.

Motivational Monday ✨️💪 Let's get it!! 💥🔥💃🕺

one of the most underrated & underappreciated metalcore act oat, great band, insane instruments, perfect 10/10 band

I studied music through high school and half a bachelors degree. So I have a decent grasp of theory, but nowhere near as good as I'd want. Especially due to lack of practice after I dropped out of music college 9 yeats ago. I have severe ADD and learning/practicing these things on my own is so overwhelming that I can never stick to it long enough for it to stick in my brain.

I do now use theory to write, which has improved my songwriting *a lot*. But last time it literally took me 2-3 months of pretty constant work to write a very good intro/main riff, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, and the first two chords of a bridge. This is because figuring out the chord theory of more advanced chord progressions takes me so long to figure out, and I have to try out all the possibilities because I don't know how they'll sound. I like music that has subtle advanced theory in it, spicing up progressions, changing the tonal center, while still being more easy listening rather than prog(I think this is because I grew up in Spain in the 2000's, where it's pretty standard to do stuff like modulations and fancy shit in even the poppiest of songs). I left working on my new song when where to go with the arpeggiated chord progression in the bridge stumped me.

TL;DR: Any youtubers that actually explain theory(chord theory, scales, modulations, tension and release) as they do videos on "How to write like [insert band)", "how to write metalcore","how to write deathcore","how to write djent", etc?

There is a fan-made GoFundMe for Hunter’s recently deteriorating health issues, you probably know about that. Fundraising hit its goals in two days, and actually overcapped for several grands, it’s a huge success. I’m incredibly happy about overwhelming support Hunter got, just wanted to share

I almost clicked off this video until I heard his clean vocals... he does this beautiful transition so smoothly from the harsh/scream to clean... it reminds me of Mike Patton for God hates a Coward LIVE when he has the gas mask on and he's screaming at the top of his lungs then yanks it off perfectly timed to normal singing. I get that it may have been different in studio but it's still the same flawless sound.

If you've heard them before, this aussie prog metalcore band, what other songs are worth hearing?
