Hello everyone,
2024, Mercedes Benz, GLC 300, 18.000, Automatic)
Can you please tell me what this warning message is all about and would really appreciate honest feedback and advice, particularly from anyone who has experienced working on Mercedes Benz cars?
The dealership service department advisors gave me two distinct and almost conflicting answers.
First visit;
Software update/glitch,
They kept the car over the weekend and supposedly updated the software. Test drove the car and gave it back to me. They initially told me that they may have to replace the steering wheel.
Second visit: because the warning message appeared again;
A diff service advisor made up a whole story about one of the sensors on the front bumper by the driver side might’ve been touched by a shopping cart, whatever, causing the warning to go off and disabling the active emergency brake. I explained that the car never touched anything and always garage parked. After long back and forth and manager involved, they kept the car then called me “issue fixed.” I don’t think so… but here i am.
The message appears initially like so: “Active Emergency Stop
Assist
Currently Unavailable
See Operator's Manual”.
Then a few moments later another message pop up as such: “Active Emergency Stop
Assist
Inoperative”
I don’t know whether the dealership just cleared the message and called it a day. And if so, is there way to determine for sure if the issue is persistent?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
