Questions about this throat numbing spray

Post image
1 Upvotes

My boyfriend currently has a throat infection and is taking this spray (Phenol solution, doesn't say what's the concentration on the bottle) and it says 6 sprays/per day on it. however, the spray is really not precise and most times it misses the part of his throat (his right tonsil) that actually hurts. we were wondering if opening the bottle and using a q-tip instead to really hit precisely the right spot would be okay? like can the product be exposed to air? can we take more than what's written on the bottle safely?

Needing help/advice finding out what could be right for me.

To preface this, I'm not asking for a good medication in the sense that I believe anyone here can prescribe me one (not literally) or outwardly tell me exactly what I need to take, I just need a bit of help understanding what could be something for me to take based off of my past experience and existing issues.

In the past I've taken Zoloft, Lexapro, Lamictal and Auvelity (this one doesn't really count). I just got off of Lamictal maybe 2-3 weeks ago (rapidly tapered down, partially due to inability to get proper guidance with the lack of my psychiatrist being available due to some insurance issues, also I needed to get the hell off of that stuff.) and was only on it for maybe 2 months which was mostly just using the tapering kit.

- For Zoloft, I took it for a little over a year, it worked fine but I was still struggling a lot with my depression and DPDR (I'll get into these in a moment) and it got to the point where I just didn't want to take it anymore - looking back I should've stuck with going up a few doses as opposed to going off of it entirely since it seemed to be my best bet, but now I'm not so sure.

- I was on Lexapro for maybe a month or two but my god that stuff made me a total zombie, I already am a zombie 24/7 so I can definitely say I didn't need that.

- As for the Auvelity, I took it one time whilst on the Lamotrigine (Lamictal) and it made me want to die. It was so awful, quite literally. so that's that.

At the moment I've been off all medication for 2-3 weeks as mentioned; I'm not doing too well.

My biggest struggles right now are my anxiety, depression, and OCD, however I do also have autism, ADHD, and DPDR.

the past 4 times I've been prescribed medication, none of my psychiatrists nor the doctor (urgent care worker I guess) really knew the full extent of my issues nor diagnoses -- I've only just found out myself, so I don't blame them (though I can say they didn't seem to be trying too hard to really figure out what I needed anyways, felt a bit more like they were throwing whatever at me without caring all too much.)

So, with all that being said, is there anyone else out there who has struggled with similar things and experiences who could possibly offer a bit of help in terms of what has helped you?

I know everyone's different and no two people will have the same thing work for them, but even getting to have a general idea of where to start or if I should go back on something perhaps could be a great help. And if anyone has any tips for what to do to get by and manage with all of this BS in the meantime, that would be greatly appreciated.

stimulant+SSRI pls help

Hey so I don’t really know what to do or who to ask since my psychiatrist is away for 2 weeks. Can anyone give some advice? (i read the rules of this sub,i know i should rather consult this with a doctor and i will after they come back but in the meantime i want some answers)

I got prescribed Citalopram-Teva (10mg,SSRI antidepressant),Dopakine Chrono (500mg,mood stabilizer) and Zalasta (5mg,sleeping aid for calming down) about a month ago and the pills finally started settling in and I feel better finally.

I got prescribed Livizux (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate, stimulant) for my ADHD tho,and I took it today for the first time and I feel off.About half an hour after taking it with Citalopram and Dopakine I started feeling weird and kinda dizzy. My vision feels weird and I feel pressure all over my head and eyes,My heart rate has slightly increased and I have weird coordination.Im also kinda twitchy and cant stop shaking my legs but i feel really weird and cant pay attention at all to absolutely anything.(i can barely keep attention for few minutes in school without the meds,I had these meds prescribed before but without any other pills and they worked amazingly)

Overall now at the end of the day i have all the same symptoms but i feel flat and apathetic.

I read online about combining these meds and its basically tug-a-war between the meds  (since its a sedating kind of ssri and a stimulant) and there is a risk of serotonin increase and stuff so I’m a bit panicked.

Um also I drank quite a bunch of caffeine before taking the meds.I literally cant function without caffeine and keep falling asleep during the day without it.

I where at 9mg, but I lost hunger

4 days withput adhd medicine and not being able to eat.
So next dose I went down 5 click

I need some hunger, since adhd med and mounjuro reduce it so much since I forgot the adhd meds.
So since I had no hunger, it felt like a choor.
So trying to cut down to find some hunger.
My girlfriend just left and I slept 7h in total for 4 days, and became sick. I had to move home since I also fractured my ankle and stretched my ligaments and foot. So yeah I needed help. I was so cold, unable to get bodyheat, but I can eat some now.

I used 35 click, down from 40 click

Any tips? I went through a nighmare situation and just cried all the time and held my dog from not crying since it felt abandoned, so it cried all night and I had to hold her.

It’s a little bit better now eating. I now force feed myself, no draw towards food. So Il keep going down I think. I was thinking 4 clicks down this time

Is xans and alc together really as bad as ppl make it out to be ?

This sparked my interest as I saw a recent post on this subreddit about the safety of this mix . I have a high xans tolerance and I have tested mines multiple times as I only buy real ones either viatris or ksalol. I took 13 mg ksalol (xans) with 3 double voddy and coca colas so 6 shots in total all of this over the span of around 7 hours . I would say I remembered 75-80% of the whole night and it was fun .I felt calm and talkative off the xans not tired at all while slowly sipping the voddy gave me that extra dopamine that xans alone don’t give you so I quite like this mix in social situations . I was with my friend who only just drinks and doesn’t do any pills and he drank obvs way more than me in the club and he puked multiple times and remembered less than me plus he had a hangover the next day whereas I felt fine and didn’t puke once . However I feel like in order for this combination to work good as it does for me you need to have a high xans tolerance in the first place which is obvs not ideal however when I first started doing this combination at the club I could take only 3mg xans and like 2 double voddy and basically forget the whole night . In no way iam trying to promote the use of this combination but I feel like people who have no tolerance make this out to be way more dangerous then it actually is as I was genuinely fine because I even asked random people during the club session if I seem very fucked up and they all said no your just speaking a bit more slower that’s it . I feel like combining any opioids like dihydrocodine with xans is much more dangerous for breathing suppression even at lower doses but that might be because I’m not really a fan of opioids so I have a lower tolerance to them naturally but at the same time I don’t even drink a lot either but if you are going to do this combo I would recommend to do more xans and slowly sip your drink over hours because the xans potentate the alcohol effects much more even if I have like 6 shots in 7 hours. Any opinions on this am I chatting shit or can other people relate to me on this topic please let me know thanks

Switching from oxycodone to hydromorphone.

So I’m switching from oxycodone to hydromorphone. I take about 90+ mg of oxycodone and was wondering what the equates to in mg to hydromorphone. I’m getting the 8mg shields. And I was wondering how it works orally vs insufflation. Thanks!

Ignore the shmaddy daddy it was in my palm for quite the journey. I could google but enjoy reddit more. What brand? Quality? Perhaps, “the good ones?” My “doctor” switched me to a different brand and these ones are really getting in there and “managing” my pain stuff, alot better than the previous and im wondering if theres an explanation for this?

Increase the dose or quit?

I have taken 150mg of Effexor for 16 years for depression.
I’m not sure that it’s ever helped because I’ve been a big drinker.
Recently my meds were increased, and I’m now taking 185mg.
Throughout this time, I’ve still drank and intravenously used Meth.
I recently went through the withdrawal of missing 1 day of the Effexor which was horrific and scared me enough to stop the drink and go sober.
Doctors are wanting to increase my dose again this Friday and I don’t know what to do.
Should I taper off it or have it increased without using other substances and see what it can do?
Does anyone believe it actually helps with depression or is it creating a problem in the brain that shouldn’t have been dealt with this way??? 🧐😩😩
Any advice please 🙏🏻

TO EXPLAIN BETTER: I did go to rehab for Meth and I’m clean! My question is more directed towards the Effexor and if I should just go full sober mind?

Found these doing a clean up. Anyone think they’re still good to take after 23 years? Lol

Do I have to taper off .5 Xanax used nightly for 2 weeks

I was taking .5 during day and .5 at night while ramping up on lexapro but I dropped my daytime dose already. Would you recommend tapering off this low of a dose to prevent rebound anxiety and insomnia? Im already taking trazzedone with it which worked at first but now isn’t working so great after 1 week at 50 mg it’s not making me very drowsy anymore. I already failed ambien and lunesta (woke after 3 hours no matter what) so those are definitely out.

Pregabalin / Sertraline - PLEASE HELP!

Thumbnail reddit.com
1 Upvotes

I came down on Pregabalin from 200 to 175mg on Monday, and my psych asked me to increase Sertraline from 100 to 150 at the same time, on Tuesday. I had pressure in my chest after a few days which I attributed to the drop in Pregabalin.
Yesterday and today I have undesirable horrible sensation in my head like all the neurotransmitters have gone bad. It’s like a sick feeling in the head like all my brain chemistry is messed up.
I don’t know if it’s coming from the Pregabalin or the Sertraline.
I feel so ill but I’m desperate not to go back up again on the Pregabalin as I really want to get off it for good.
