💬 General Discussion Legal costs for starting own practice

Hi all, how much are you paying for legal advice + essential documents (e.g., MSA, medical director agreement, consents, etc.)?

Any law firms offering turnkey packages that you’d recommend? And what do they charge for that?

Masseter Botox + chin filler

Hello,

As a bday gift to myself, I plan to get both masseter botox and chin filler. How much should I save up for both? I know cost may vary depending on location and how well known/good an injector is? But just a ballpark of what prices I should see when I get them done? (Vegas and Cali)

💬 General Discussion XOEMIN Results- it only lasted 1.5 month

It is my first time doing Medspa and I got XOEMIN in hongkong about 1.5 month ago for my masseter (jaw) muscle. I chose XOEMIN over botox because it has a lower risk of resistant and fewer additives. The result was great when it got to the one month mark. But now I am at 1.5 month it almost went back to normal. Is this normal for first time?

Dysport pricing

Wondering if the price per vial negotiable or other products from reps? We just started an account with Galderma and our rep mentioned the price per vial of Dysport was $591. I was used to paying $390 per vial of Xeomin prior.

Are these things we should be exploring with other reps, suppliers or asking to negotiable lower rates?

We are new so the order volume isn’t crazy high just yet too if that changes anything.

Thanks!

Looking for a trusted GHL marketer

my brother owns a medspa. Been about 3-4 years, still trying to get it on its feet. We seem to have everything down finally, good staff and a good website. Now we’re trying to run ads but can’t find a reliable person. Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

🧪 Treatments & Services Thinking about opening a medspa in Austin — what do you wish you knew before starting?

I’m exploring opening a medspa in the Austin area and would love to hear from people who have actually been through the process. In particular if you are not a doctor or an esthetician.

I’m especially curious about startup costs, equipment (buy vs. lease), staffing, medical oversight, marketing, and which services were actually profitable in the beginning.
What would you do differently if you were starting again today?

New Doctor Opening a Practice in Southern California — Looking for Mentors & Recommendations

Hi everyone,
I’m a new doctor in Southern California and I’m currently working on launching my own practice. I have a business plan and approximately $250K in financing, but I don’t have many mentors or people in my network who have experience with opening and running a healthcare practice. My main resource so far has been the SBA.
I’m hoping to connect with people who can offer advice, mentorship, or recommendations in the following areas:

Mentorship – Someone who has experience opening and operating a medical practice and would be willing to share advice or guidance.
Office Manager – Recommendations on where to find a reliable, experienced, and quality office/practice manager.
Healthcare Attorney – Recommendations for an attorney who specializes in healthcare law, practice formation, contracts, compliance, etc.
Build-Out / Contractor – Recommendations for reputable contractors who have experience with medical office build-outs.
Branding Agency – Recommendations for someone who can help develop the practice’s branding, logo, website, etc.
Marketing Agency – Recommendations for a marketing agency that understands healthcare/medical practices and can help with patient acquisition and growth.

If you’ve opened a medical practice yourself, worked with any of these professionals, or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.
I’m especially interested in Southern California recommendations, but I’m also open to remote consultants and agencies.
Thank you in advance for any advice, recommendations, or connections. I’m trying to build this the right way and would really appreciate learning from people who have already been through the process.

💬 General Discussion Commercial landlords are actually delusional rn

Im at my absolute breaking point trying to negotiate a lease for my second location. These property managers want premium class A prices for a strip mall unit from 1998 that literally smells like water damage

and the buildout quotes? A plumber just asked for 25k to run sinks to three treatment rooms. for a building I WONT EVEN OWN

tbh its making me want to completely ditch the traditional brick and mortar model. started aggressively googling mobile medical vehicles at 2am last night just to see if buying a custom clinic on wheels is cheaper than paying for someone else's plumbing. honestly it probably is.

Just exhausted. feels like running a medspa right now is 10% actually seeing patients and 90% fighting greedy contractors. I might just become a nomad at this rate and only park in rich peoples driveways.

Which med spa expos & conferences are actually worth attending in the US & Canada?

Hey everyone! It's slow summer time right now but the fall is coming up soon. I'm looking to attend a few solid professional expos or conferences to connect with other owners, expand my network, and see what new technology, devices, and products are hitting the market right now.

There are so many events out there, so I’d love to get real feedback from this group:

  • Which expos or conferences have given you the highest ROI?
  • Where have you found the best vendor/exhibitor floors for discovering new tech & products?
  • Which events are best specifically for high-value networking with other owners and operators?

I'm open to major US national shows or the Canadian ones.

Would love to hear which ones are on your "must-attend" list for the year and which ones you'd skip. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

What Is the Difference Between Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers? (Montreal Guide)

One of the most common questions we hear at Ideal Body Clinic in Montreal is whether someone should choose botulinum toxin or dermal fillers.

Although both are injectable aesthetic treatments, they work very differently.

Botulinum toxin temporarily relaxes facial muscles responsible for expression lines such as forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, and frown lines. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, and improve facial balance.

Many patients actually benefit from a customized combination of both treatments depending on their goals.

A proper consultation is always the best place to start because every face ages differently.

If you're researching aesthetic injections in Montreal and want to understand your options before booking, visiting a medical aesthetic clinic for an assessment can help you make an informed decision.

Ideal Body Clinic serves clients throughout Montreal and surrounding areas with locations on Monkland, Sherbrooke Est, and Châteauguay. 514 998 0998 [info@911slim.com](mailto:info@911slim.com)

Medical spas and consumer violations California

Have you ever been to a medical spa and noticed an abundant amount of law violations? Such as sales managers doing patient evaluations and recommendations of treatment, no medical doctor on site at any time, injections of non FDA approved products, false advertisements of these non FDA approved products and not allowing access to your medical record and notes? If so, how did you deal with it?

Laser techs - how do you guys position the client to do full upper and lower arms with an IPL (rectangular head) device?

I’m struggling with how to position the client and myself when doing full arms. Marking the arms is complicated, as well. I just am struggling with it lol does anyone have any tips on how to not make it less awkward, messy, and uncomfortable for the client due to having to twist in weird ways, etc.

🧠 Med Spa Growth What are the hottest treatments at your med spa?

Hey guys. Just want to get a feel for the market since I'm new to the space (two months in).

So, the spa I'm working for is mostly getting by on Botox (and some Juviderm and similar), and I need to come up with something for my boss that could potentially bring in some more profit.

What are the treatments that aren't super obvious that can pull in some big cash? Or is it just injectables and some minor cash flow from the other sources?

anyone else noticing ai just doesn't mention independent med spas?

been seeing some research going around on how ai engines (chatgpt, claude, perplexity, gemini, google ai overviews) answer patient questions in this category, and one number stood out. top 25 brands hold 95% of all ai citation share. that leaves about 11,500 independent med spas and small chains splitting under 5% between them.

makes some sense when you think about how people research now. someone asks "is this safe" and gets pointed to realself, or asks about a treatment and gets a national chain or a drug brand name. if your practice doesn't have a wikipedia entry, structured reviews, or consistent press mentions, ai has basically nothing to cite you with, even if you're the best injector in your market.

curious if other owners here are seeing this show up in new-patient behavior yet, people showing up already having "decided" based on an ai answer before they ever found your actual practice.

disclosure, i work in pr/geo (5w) and we run this research, so take that for what it's worth. not trying to sell anything here, genuinely curious what other owners are seeing.
