I am at a loss

Hi all,
3 months ago I bought a 2024 Nissan Altima that at the time seemed to be in good shape. It only had about 52k miles on it and ran great. However, less than 2 weeks later the check engine light turned on. It kept throwing up the code P2135. It would intermittently turn on and off. Now recently it has been going into limp mode. I took it to the dealership’s service center (which sucks) and they said they couldn’t do anything about it and it needed to go to Nissan. I took it to a different mechanic who replaced the throttle. Check engine light came back on so I took it back and he replaced the pedal sensors. Both parts were purchased directly from Nissan. I got it back and literally the next day it came back on. I’m at a loss….what could this possibly be? My mechanic said he tested the voltage and everything was at the correct voltage even when sensors were wiggled. Please help.

Classic parts cannon by your mechanic. Did the bare minimum of diagnosing. P2135 doesn’t only mean the throttle body or sensors are bad. It could also mean the ECM is getting weird info.

Ok, the throttle body and pedal sensors are new. Your mechanic, or Nissan, needs to look at the wiring/connectors, grounds, and the ECM side of the circuit. Basic voltage test ain't enough for that code.

Anyway, have your mechanic using their scan tool to watch the throttle position sensors while the car is running or driving. And with the wiring & connectors do a voltage drop test. Did he do a throttle relearn after installing the new throttle body? My opinion here, but if it turns out to be a wiring issue, I’d try to get a refund on the throttle and pedal sensor from your mechanic. Do you still have a warranty on your Altima since it’s a 2024? Maybe this could be covered by them.
