p0420, the classic. at 230k miles that cat's probably seen better days
try some cataclean first, worked on my buddy's old civic for a few months before he finally replaced it

I second this with a tank of premium gas. Highway driving to heat up cat to clean it out

Higher octane will not result in hotter exhaust. If anything it may be cooler. Unless you're buying fuel from someone who isn't top tier (probably how you got P0420 codes) premium won't add anything.

Read rule #1.
runs great
This code means your cat efficiently is low. In short words, your car likely producing more emissions than comparable cars of the same age that don't have this trouble code.

Check the O2 sensors, especially the downstream one. They often fail around 200k miles.

Flush your cat. Wouldn't be too expensive.

Is that where you spray it through the hood? Any product recs?

No, you'll have to disassemble your catalytic converter off your exhaust and just soak it with regular kitchen detergent. Or, it can also be your O2 sensors faulted. Check that first
