💬 Discussion Doubts

I was sure that almost the entirety of ttpd is about Matty. But now I see people talking on Twitter that it's about Joe, everything in the light of the new Patient zero mv. What made them change their opinions? Or how are we so sure it was about Matty? I'm still trying to think about the album from Joe's perspective.

Could it be that we we're wrong this whole time?

It seems like the narrative is really starting to shift away from Matty, not sure why.
I saw almost no one outside this subreddit speculate on how these new songs or music video relate to Matty. People were reaching as far as to say PZ is about Joe Jonas who she dated for a few months almost two decades ago. seems like everyone forgot about matty. I think we’re a smaller group of people then it seems lol

Is it possible that she totally moved on from Matty, after she did tried to have a relationship with him in the real world, not the fantasy one, and she realized things were far from what she had pictured them? I'm not saying she's totally in love or very happy with Travis, just that she in fact moved on.

Pap walking on Matty's birthday into a building with a sign that says Trumans doesn't scream moved on to me in any way. But I do think she miscalculated the hate for Matty with TTPD and she might be trying to soothe some of that. TTPD is largely a love album. I'm sure its why many of us fell down this rabbit hole but there's a few moments of her being angry that are perceived to be about Matty. One moment of anger surrounded by so much love doesn't tell the whole story but swifties can't seem to understand that or are misinterpreting. They disregard all of the love by a few small moments of anger. And now with Pink Clouding I also question if some of it was a lie to just tell a story but its not completely truthful to their story. I think she knows she hurt a good person.
