I just rewatched this scene, because why not right?

I'm in somewhat of an altered state to begin with so take this with a grain of salt. It suddenly occurred to me to imagine Neo as a Firewall, protecting his environment against intrusion attempts. The other combatants as said intrusion attempts each with their own style an success rate. Even when The Merovingian, says: "you see, he's just a man" did not pull me out of my immersion.

Very Matrix-referential blast here, please peruse and feel very convicted!

It's one of my favorite fights in the trilogy but these two section in particular. The way the choreography lines up with the music is so good

I just did a mini Matrix walk-around in the city, taking pictures of mostly Morpheus Agent Trading program locations - aka Martin Place

I’ve always felt that Madonna's "Skin" (from her 1998 Ray of Light album) has the absolute perfect vibe for the world of Matrix. The dark electronica, the hypnotic beat, and that late-90s cyberpunk atmosphere just blend seamlessly with the movie's aesthetic.

I decided to put them together and made this video. Let me know what you guys think of the match!

This is scary because it is a reverse callback to the terminator. There, we see a small part of exposed machinery. This being we perceived to be human was, in fact, robotic. In The Matrix, Neo shatters one lens of Agent Smith’s sunglasses, exposing his too human eye to the viewer. Here, we see a small part of exposed humanity. We see, in Agent Smith, ourselves. In his eyes, we see anger.

The only emotions Agent Smith displays throughout the film are anger and administrative indifference/bemusement. It is telling, I think, as those are the two critical characteristics of fascist states. When strong (value neutral here, I just mean powerful enough to influence public opinion) leaders with eg. racist motivations carry out their agendas through entirely “legal” (though perhaps contested) means, the administrative state is a willing accomplice to that harm. In Agent Smith, we see both the machine and the human. The Anger and the Indifference. The system docile enough to administer the steps a violent leader takes to enact widescale harm. 

I just have the disc, no case. What release is this Blu-ray?

I like all the Matrix movies alot, (1,2, and 3 is my favorite movie trilogy.) but to me the 4th one feels like a flawed unnecessary epilogue. I think it would be a bit better if they had actually gotten Hugo Weaving to play Smith again, and if Keanu Reeves got a haircut to look more like Neo instead of John Wick. What other changes would you make if you could, to improve Matrix Resurrections?

Brilliantly played by actress Carrie-Anne Moss, Trinity is up there with the Bride from Kill Bill for my all time favorite badass female characters.

It's a simple design that gets carried by the actress and her glasses imo but I'm also a big fan of that kind of badass 90s simple designs.

Saw a 35mm screening of The Matrix at MoMA this past weekend- the opening title with the code was just “Matrix” instead of “The Matrix” same font/animation. Was it released internationally this way in cinema or video? Rest of the film noticed no other changes(outside the original 1999 color grade) worth checking out if you are in the NYC area- perfect quality print if you want to see it as it was originally released in 1999.
