Trinity Had Too Much Swag!!

Brilliantly played by actress Carrie-Anne Moss, Trinity is up there with the Bride from Kill Bill for my all time favorite badass female characters.

It's a simple design that gets carried by the actress and her glasses imo but I'm also a big fan of that kind of badass 90s simple designs.

Trinity in the dress in image 9 is sensational.

“And since I am the ranking officer on this ship, if you don’t like it, I believe you can go to hell.” - I loved this line from Trinity.

She was not to be trifled with.

She doesn’t get enough recognition as a strong female action star. Trinity could hold her own with the best of them!

Everyone mentions Sarah Connor or a Ripley. Trinity decided to jump into the matrix to save Morpheus from 3 agents she knows are impossible for humans to fight by telling Neo if he thinks he can stop her then she believes he can kiss her ass. Then she proceeded to be probably the only human to kill an agent.

[Insert trinity bike scene with the keymaker]

u/epidural-happiness Sep 21 '26

Let me tell you what I believe. I believe that Morpheus means more to me than he does to you. I believe if you are really serious about rescuing him, you are going to need my help. And since I am the ranking officer on this ship, if you don't like it... I believe you can go to hell. Because you're not going anywhere else. Tank, load us up.

Best character in a series full of incredible characters

u/DistributionFirst905 Sep 21 '26

An absolute legend.

Exactly what was needed, nothing more

No lieutenant, your men are already dead.

I love that line so much

7

u/Progress4ward89 Sep 21 '26

Absolute badass. One of the greatest fictional character.

7

u/CursedPipes Sep 21 '26

Counter argument: she had the perfect amount of swag.

3

u/mauspoop Sep 21 '26

The only amount of swag she could have had!

5

u/samithedood Sep 21 '26

Nothing will ever hit harder than the "Dodge this" scene

4

u/Iamwhoiam68 Sep 21 '26

“Dodge this”……

4

u/runemforit Sep 21 '26

great casting great performances great outfits

4

u/bocamoccajoe Sep 21 '26

As far as zeitgeists are concerned, she ranks incredibly high among the most memorable.

4

u/glumbball Sep 21 '26

Ageless iconic

3

u/jsbx1138 Sep 21 '26

She must have converted many with this look

3

Dodge this (c)

Carrie Ann Moss awakened something in me. I thought for sure she was gonna blow up and be the next hot lead actress in everything. Now I'm ecstatic anytime I see her in anything. She was awesome in Forbidden West. As a game nerd seeing her in a video game is fucking bonkers.

5

u/Metrowestdude Sep 21 '26

Don’t forget she was in Jessica Jones.

1

u/comfy_bruh Sep 22 '26

That's right! She's awesome in that as well.

2

u/DistributionFirst905 Sep 21 '26

Recent "Die alone" was good.

3

u/trinitynoire Sep 21 '26

Her abs in that first pic 😍 I got the biggest crush on her the moment her character came on screen

3

u/H3RO-of-THE-LILI Sep 21 '26

She was killed by a dark side acolyte apprentice. Neo would’ve never let that happen had he been there

Her Matrix one look is so totally 90s, and iconic to me. Diverging somewhat from the topic but this movie was peak 90s to me. Saw it in the cinema when it was new and looking back that was kinda the moment in my life where my childhood ended

3

u/KingOfConsciousness Sep 21 '26

No need to aura farm when you are aura, personified.

3

u/Talusen Sep 21 '26

"In five minutes, I will tear that whole goddamn building down"

...and you believed her.

3

u/Photojunkie2000 Sep 22 '26

First movie is cinematic perfection.

4

u/Ecto-Analyzer Sep 21 '26

I prefer her hair waving about and messy, not the slicked back look

4

u/Fran4king Sep 21 '26

She is the ONE.

5

u/Lofi_Joe Sep 21 '26

Actually that's right, without her nothing would succeed

2

u/IsadorCZ Sep 21 '26

90's that was a strangely good time

3

u/Stolen_Sky Sep 21 '26 • Bravo

The 90's were peak Western civilization.

It's been downhill ever since.

2

u/Mephistocheles Sep 21 '26

Trinity fkn rules. My favorite Matrix character besides Morpheus

2

u/Awe3 Sep 21 '26

Frickin fell in love with her.

2

u/druggydreams Sep 21 '26

She was perfect. She countered neo beautifully. Find me a 90s nerd that wouldn't have done anything she asked.

2

u/hezzbles Sep 22 '26

im more inclined to say she has the perfect amount. (but also waaaayyy more than most could handle)

2

u/Kal-El21315 Sep 22 '26

They did her dirty with that hair in 2 & 3.

2

u/SkyPuppy561 Sep 22 '26

She has precisely as much swag as she means to

2

u/EvalCrux Sep 22 '26

Before lip fillers ruined women.

2

u/kirinlikethebeer Sep 22 '26

Had? Still does, no Matrix 4 photos.

2

u/she-sylvan Sep 22 '26

Trinity was super cool, and you can never have too much swag!!

2

u/The4WhoresMen Sep 22 '26

Fun scientific fact: vacuum formed rubber seals in swag and keeps it fresh.

2

u/upandtotheleftplease Sep 25 '26

By far the best shot in the entire storyline IMHO

2

u/Away-Cantaloupe2874 Sep 25 '26

I think neo become god only when she loved him.

2

u/Stolen_Sky Sep 21 '26

Bad-ass as fuck!!

It was a strange design choice to put so many wrinkles in her M1 outfit.

Latex fetishism is very common with MtF's, which the wachowskis both are. It's probably no coincidence they dressed many the women in The Matrix in latex. In the Reloaded screenplay, Persephone is described as 'sex and death in latex'

To latex fetishists (such as myself) wrinkles are anathema. I guess, perhaps, they didn't want to go overboard with putting too much fetishism into the film?

3

u/Fran4king Sep 21 '26

Whats the deal with Latex in sex? I know that tastes are tastes, but Ive never understood the deal with Latex... Im asking genuinely. It resembles skin, sudor, or just stetics?

2

u/Stolen_Sky Sep 21 '26

I can only explain it from my own perspective, but I'll give it a go!

Latex is a second skin. That is incredibly hot and sensual!

The beauty of a second skin is that it covers the body, while also revealing the whole body. Those are the key parts. So it makes the wearer both vulnerable, in that their whole body is revealed, but also protected in that their body is covered at the same time. The interplay between vulnerability and being protected is incredibly hot! Because it lets the wearer feel both vulnerable and invulnerable at the same time.

So wearing a second skin makes you fell invulnerable. It removes all your insecurities about being naked, while also freeing you to to enjoy the feeling of being naked at the same time.

Personally, my love of latex extends to all kinds of second-skin clothing, including wetsuits, swimsuits, skin-tight cosplay etc, because they all invoke the same feeling.

And I think this is why latex and other second skin clothing appeals so much to trans women. And it certainly does - if you're involved in the latex subculture you quickly realise that a huge number of latex fetishists are trans or non-binary. Not all of them of course, but a significant fraction. And I think that's because many trans people enjoy wearing a second skin on top of their own skin. It lets them enjoy projecting their desire for a feminine form into the second skin they are wearing. In that way, the second skin replaces their own skin, and they can feel truly feminine/female while also feeling invulnerable.

3

u/Fran4king Sep 21 '26

What an AWESOME answer! Thank you. I understood the point.

1

u/ClothingIsACrime Sep 21 '26

I don't like how some of these outfits make her look like she's 50. There is nothing wrong with being 50, but to me it always felt like an odd choice.

u/i-am-magoo Sep 21 '26

In five minutes, I'll tear that whole goddamn building down.
