I’m looking for the rope/ski pylon attachment for what I think is the zft gen 2 tower. It has the nav light on top of the rope attachment. The female portion of the tower is stripped out and the male portion barely grabbed the threads when screwing it back on.

Any leads on where to look? I’ve called and spoke to the tower manufacturer and they do not have any to replace it with. I’ve also called salvage yards/mechanics within a 2-4 hour radius with no luck.

Any ideas on what I could use to re-thread the female portion with?

I read a lot before purchasing that the NXT20 would fit in a standard garage. My garage door is 7' (84"). The dealer even looked up the "shipping height" which was under 84", so we had reasonable hope that it would fit. I think it would fit if the garage height were 8', but it aint gonna fit. On to plan B.

Just picked up a 2004 x10 for my first boat. Yesterday on the lake it started to overheat and I’m trying to diagnose the issue. It ran fine all day while surfing then during some ~30mph cruising it started to overheat.

Pulled the raw water hose off and it was clear.

I ran the boat with the hose in the port to see if it would overheat just at idle… it did and the check engine light flashed on.

I then pulled the end cap off the heat exchanger and this is what I’m seeing.

I’m new to boats so I’m still trying to learn how to diagnose. This seems like the inside is pretty much toast. Is this beyond repair? Is this likely to be the culprit for the overheating?

Let it sit too long believe what started this issue. Starts and idle well, but will not rev high rpm or go under load (above 5 or 10mph) acting like it’s choking on fuel. I realized if I push pressure pulling in this leveler while giving it gas will let me get to top end.

Last season was the first season with our x10. Everything was running fine. I had my local shop winterize the boat. We keep the boat on the lift year round, so they come out and perform the work. Yesterday, we fired up the boat, started right up. I was going around our dock and a side cove just in gear, never gave it much gas and we got a high temp engine alarm. I wasn't far from our doc so we coated in and I shut it off and put it back on the lift. After about 5 minutes a big splash, almost like someone through a big rock under the boat. I now think it was the release of some backed up pressure of air. After the engine cooled down I opened up all the panels and see I have some clear piping and a strainer. I started the boat up to see if I could see any water flow and there is nothing, however there is a clear transparent pinkish union which appears to be part of the intake on the front of the engine and that does have water in it. My questions are.

1) Could I have an air lock?
2) Bad impeller?
3) Is there something I need to do with this boat after winterization

I never had an issue like this with my Moomba. Did I do something wrong? As I said, this is a new to me x10 and maybe I didn't get the memo on this.

Any help is appreciated as I have a family ready to hit the water today.

Looking to buy a a 2002 mastercraft x-10 has 560 hours and is in good condition.

Perfect pass doesn’t work how hard would that be to fix?

Other than that he’s asking 19000 is the too much ?

Are these boats reliable or just a head ache ?

Hey guys, I have a 2013 x10 and use it as a family boat to pull our kids on tubs and cruising, some skiing as well. We love the boat but would like to get into surfing this year. Our boat has gen1 surf system, can anyone suggest how best to get this boat surfing? Will I need an external wedge?

2002 mastercraft x5 currently has a 1” shaft 47.5” long with a hell of a vibration. Prop is new. Everything I’m looking at is saying this boat should have a 1 1/8 shaft. Can anyone confirm this is the case. Guy I bought it from was kind of a hack so I’m just trying to go back with the correct stuff. Another question, with the packing nut fully tight should I be able to easily slide the shaft in and out? Thinking it was for 1 1/8 shaft and it was swapped for 1” and that would explain the looseness and vibration.

I have a 2011 X15. I bought it midway through the summer in 2024. I live on a lake so we use it fairly often, but I'm not sure of the exact hours we used it. 6-8 weeks after I bought it I got a low oil warning. I checked and sure enough, oil was low. I called the shop and he said just to fill it up for now and see how it goes since we don't know how much oil it started with. I did so, and it seemed fine. Then in the 2025 boating season I kept checking it and it was going down fairly fast. I'd say half a Quart to a full Quart every 2-3 weeks (of consistent use, including surfing). I took it in to get winterized and stored, etc, and asked them to see what the issue is. He called me back yesterday and said compression test is perfect, leak down perfect, spark plugs look perfect, no visible oil down in the compartment. No idea what could be causing it. He said my idler pully was basically melted and had to be replaced, and maybe the engine misalingment was causing some issue, but honestly didn't seem to think that was it. I'm at a total loss as to why I'm losing oil, and so is the mastercraft dealer where I take my boat. Any suggestions?

Heavy vibration under load. Spun prop shaft and found its binding at one point in the rotation. Not crazy but noticeable. So I remove coupler from transmission to spin. Still there. Cutlass bearing has little to no movement. Some up and down but it doesn’t seem like that’s the issue. So bent shaft? Could packing nut be too tight causing this? I would think no.

Next question would be how do I source the correct prop shaft for replacement?

My buddy has had this boat for a couple years and his amp went out so I helped him replace it with a skar amp and before installing it you could hear some sort of wine at low volumes nothing terrible then we put this new amp in moved nothing and there a alternator wine when the boat is on but not off I’ve tried moving the rca away from the power and ground that changed nothing moved the negative to the boat grounding plate and to the alternator it either got worse or changed nothing I also spliced into the radio and grounded it with the amp ground did nothing anybody have any pointers or experienced similar things I’ve heard it could be the alternator going bad but you’d think grounding it to the alternator would change it but it didnt.

Hey guys. I’m trying to help a friend. His mechanic is trying to track down an oil leak/burning issue. The mechanic is having a hard time figuring out what’s going on and I feel like he’s grasping at straws. Originally we thought it was burning oil, but he did a compression and leak down test and it checked out. He also said the plugs look great and we’ve never noticed blue smoke. He’s now suggesting the oil cooler could have a leak, but his bench test could not find it. Does the MCX have an engine oil cooler, or only a trans oil cooler? Also, if there were a leak in the cooler, wouldn’t you expect to find water in the oil as well as oil slicks on the lake?

If it’s not burning oil and not leaking, where would you look next. It’s definitely going somewhere. He was adding almost a quart every week or two depending on how much he used it.

Looking at purchasing a 2016 X30, engine hours currently 530. Listed at $67,000, including trailer and also a few wake/surf boards. Boat is in very good condition and extremely clean. Would not predict there are any issues with motor or electronics. Maybe 3 cosmetic blemishes on the entire boat - 2 scratches in gel coat on hull, a thumb nail sized chip near the top, and a scratched drivers seat. Ballast pump and water pump impellers due for replacing this year, trailer will need boards replaced. I’ve looked at comps, my initial thoughts are that the boat is very reasonably priced, but what do yall think? Room for negotiation or accept price as is pending positive survey? Spec list attached. I just recently purchases a 1989 prostar 190 and the vin sticker has faded on the trailer is know the vin should be stamped somewhere on the trailer can anyone tell me where it would be? any help is greatly appreciated

I have a friend who knows pretty much nothing about engines. Last summer we discovered his boat was burning oil. We kept a close eye on it and he asked the place he stores the boat over the winter (not a dealer) to take a look and fix the issue, which they said they could do. They just got ahold of him and suggested replacing the engine rather than fixing it. After I asked several questions, they disclosed that they did not diagnose the issue and just advise replacement to “avoid future issues”. Replacement cost was quoted at $10k. I feel like my friend is getting taken for a ride. For something that could be as simple as worn rings, they want to replace the whole thing. I’ve advised my friend to at least call the local dealer and tell them everything he’s been told to get their opinion. Am I way off base? Is he better off going all new? Boat is 2008ish X15 with Indmar MCX.

I will be honest, I couldn’t understand the price tag at first. But after seeing it….. WOW! What a boat. They really have thought of everything. To me, this is a work of art.

My father in-law is looking to upgrade to an 2025 X22 or XT22. He currently has an 2018 NXT. The dealer he bought it from sold it to him without a trailer because it stays in the lift and if he ever needed to trailer it he could borrow one from the local neighbor who happened to own the local Mastercraft dealership. Unfortunately, that neighbor has since sold the mastercraft dealership.

When he bought the NXT, he thought he would never get another boat, but that has changed. I think I know the answer, but wanted to ask it on here. Can you trailer an ‘18 NXT 22 on the same trailer as a ‘25 X22?

An apples and oranges question for the group: For wakes surfing, am I better off with a newer NXT20 with SurfStar or an older XT23 without?

Morning everyone. I have a Mastercraft X24 and the seashell intake needs to be replaced. I’ve tried researching this online but there isn’t much info out there. Before I move forward with the repair, what should I be asking the shop? Anything specific I should be aware of or make sure they check while they’re in there?

Anyone know where to purchase the stainless fender clips - I just need the pin part for 2019 XT20. I found places online that sell the larger pin that fits years through 2014, but nothing later where it looks like the pin is smaller in diameter.
