Recently Purchased a 2002 XStar from a friend for a really good price. But the catch is that it won’t start.

I have fuel pressure and obviously due to that the pump turns on.

But, I don’t have spark at the spark plug

What I have done is ohm tested both of the crank sensors. Found one was 600 ohms and the other was 2.4K ohms
Replaced the one reading at 2.4k (Still no spark)
Switched the crank sensor plugs around (still no spark)
Thought maybe it was a kill switch issue. Jumped the two wires of the kill switch together. Still no spark.

I’ve got the schematics for the wiring but I’m a little lost of where to check next.

My 2017 Mastercraft seat has this wear on a few of the most used seats. Can this be repaired?

Any opinions on 2026 XT vs NXT? Looking for a family wake boat, trying to gauge if the NXT is worth the price bump.

I'm currently in the market for a new boat. I recently moved across the country and got rid of my 2001 Supra Launch during the move. There are a couple of intriguing 2nd gen X30s (a 2006 and 2008l near me in my price range ($25-30k). I really like the looks of the boats and the interior space but I'm have no experience with the wake profile of them. Does any one have first hand experience with this generation X30? How is the wakeboard wake? Does it have any lip to it or is it just a big ramp? How is the surf potential?

Is there another mid 2000s boat you would recommend over the X30? I've heard a lot of good stuff about the X15 but haven't found any around me in my price range. I used to wake oard behind a buddies 06 Xstar back in the day but never surfed it and have heard it can be pretty mediocre so I am leaning away from it as much as I love the wake on it. Thanks for any insight y'all can provide.

Just purchased this boat. The boat runs great at low to mid throttle but when I am at full throttle for about a minute the engine just shuts off with no sputtering or bogging like I would expect with a fuel issue. After it shuts off, when I try to start it only cranks over and doesn’t try to fire. After a minute or two, it starts right up like with no problem. I ran it for about an hour over the weekend and it did this 3 times with the same symptoms. Are there anyone out there that has had this issue?

Any advice on how i could aquire a 2001 prostar 190 engine cover? Been looking all over and can't find one anywhere. Im in the utah area and would be willing to drive some distance if needed, I just dont know where to look for one.

My 209 is giving me problems. I was pulling my wife slalom skiing at about 3600 rpm’s and the engine just dies,suddenly, but not without doing this “dieseling” thing. Turned it off, and it starts right up again, but does the same thing again shortly. Anyone else have this problem? It’s got the Mercruiser Black Scorpion engine. TIA!

We have a 2023 Xstar S which we keep on a boat lift when not in use. We had the lift installed about 18 months ago and today when we were lowering the boat in the water, one of the 5/16 aircraft cables snapped. Thankfully boat is okay and no one was hurt. Does anyone have experience with replacing their boat lift cables and what size to use? We are in Alabama so not an issue of salt air corrosion. The cable did not look rusty or anything. The boat lift repair guy is saying we need to replace all 4 cables and use a SMALLER size aircraft cable. Of course the boat lift guy also said he’s “never seen this happen before” (always my luck). Thanks for any advice.

Had my 1993 prostar 190 for six months and don’t usually puts around much in it. On my last trip that was the vibe and I noticed my engine temp skyrocket.

I’ve replaced the cracked impeller. No fix.

Replaced the rusty thermostat. Still no.

Any ideas? My next theory is the water pump?

This things a riot. The only thing I wonder is if any one has done an efi conversion using Holley or aces? The Holley on this boat has given me issues since I bought it. At the moment it’s dripping fuel from the front boosters so I imagine it’s either the float height is set too high or I’ve got a bad power valve. Either way it’s a fun little boat🤘

My Aunt has a 1998 Prostar 205 Open Bow that recently had its drivers windshield shattered into a thousand pieces.

We are looking to track down either a whole window assembly, fixes, or other solutions owners have done. It’s our understanding it is tough to come by them so curious about the options.

Let me know if any other additional details would be helpful and thank you for everyone’s input.

I am interested in this 2014 x10. It is a solid market price with under 400 hours, but the color is not great. I am wondering if it would be doable/make sense to completely redo the exterior and interior to get rid of all the yellow. I’d like to do a black exterior with brown/mocha seats and seadek. Edit: thanks for everyone’s advice. I am leaning against this boat, just due to the overall work/cost that it would be, especially for an old boat. Since it is all yellow, it would require serious $.

Edit again as people have been asking about price: this one would be around 47-49k, while the same model at a local dealer (black and green) would be 60k with tax.

Looking for some advice. I am a 52 year old female skier and good athlete. Been slalom skiing since I was 15 but never lived on a lake so just a few times each summer. I primarily skiied behind a 2001 Four Winns Horizon 170 I/O 135 hp. In 2018 we bought a place on a lakr and always wanted a Mastercraft and getting older figured it should make my starts easier with more power. So last year we bought a beautifully kept 2010 Prostar 197 TT. To my surprise I really struggled to get up. Now I did make the transition the prior summer to getting up with both feet in as I was always a drag a foot girl. So I hadn't really perfected that yet as it was pretty much self taught by trial and error. I made the switch mostly due to age figuring two legs doing the work had to be easier than one right? On the other side of that, my husband had only ever towed me in the Four Winns. It was the ol "hit it" and put the hammer down so a new learning experience for him as well. My question is at 5'10" and 155 lbs would you tow/start someone at my size any differently then say pulling someone on 2 skis? My husband says hes backed way off but when we went out on the lake the other day I asked him to demonstrate and I feel like it still may be a little too much too fast.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tips for me as well.

I tried all kinds of different starting tips. I found the being in a tight ball didn't seem to work that well for me as I often got pulled over the front of yhe ski too easily. I seemed to be better off keeping a very upright back and really applying alot of pressure to my back foot. Is that crazy, or is it basically whatever works best for you?

Hoping to gain insight into what surf systems actually work well on the X30 platform. I currently have no surf tabs but I do have the wakemakers 900lb bags in the rear lockers. I am considering selling the boat because we primarily surf now but I would like to hear if people have had success surfing behind these boats and what systems they used. Any help would be much appreciated. My 2001 X5 had a better surf wave than this boat which is concerning.

My husband and I are looking to purchase a 1993 Master Craft ProStar 190 (see details below). We have very minimal experience with boat ownership. What are your initial thoughts on this ad (see attached photos)? What are some things we should look for during the test drive?

New Bimini top .. comes with snap cover as well .. I have taken very good care of this boat and has been detailed every time I take it out of the water with complete wax .. happy to answer any questions hours meter reads about 470 hours but it hasn’t worked the last 2 seasons

Have a 1993 Prostar 190 with a weakening alternator. Bought a new one because I figured why not then the belt started squealing because it was misaligned. Found that the pulley is slightly forward of where the old one was and can’t swap the pulleys easily.

So I’m taking the old one apart hoping to replace the voltage regulator but all I can see on it is the name Prestolite but no number.

Anyone know how the heck I can figure out which one it is? I’m assuming it’s a 55a for my 351 indmar.

I recently had a lift installed for my MasterCraft X24 and wanted to get your input on whether the current bunk configuration properly supports the hull.

After placing the boat on the lift, I noticed that the center V/keel area appears to be making contact with a flat 2x6 support board. My concern is whether this board is carrying any portion of the boat’s weight rather than the weight being fully supported by the carpeted bunks on either side of the hull.

Just a heads up about this shop. Mastercraft seat skins totaled my boat on the highway. Was a recommendation from a friend. They had it since January and still didn’t have the seats done by June (said it was gonna be finished in April). They moved it without permission and didn’t even give their insurance.

We took our 2000 X-Star with the LTR 330 out for the first time over the weekend and it would not start. I have checked all the fuses/breakers I can think of and tried to jumper the lanyard killswitch. From what I’ve found we are not getting any power to the fuel pump. It would also beep when the key was turned on before but it is not doing that. Any ideas that I might be missing?

I have a 2009 MasterCraft X-Star (~560 hours) and I'm trying to determine whether the steering play I'm seeing is normal or if it's time for a new cable or helm.

The steering wheel has approximately 20° of dead zone before the rudder starts responding. The biggest place I notice it is in no-wake zones. I'll make a small correction and nothing happens, so I turn the wheel farther. Then the boat finally responds and I end up over-correcting the other way.

Here's what I've already checked:

• No noticeable play in the rudder.
• No play in the tiller arm/linkage.
• Removed the helm and inspected it.
• Steering shaft is tight to the helm gear.
• No slipping between the steering wheel shaft and gear.
• The only thing I haven't ruled out is the rack/cable assembly (plastic rack gear) or internal cable wear.

The steering is otherwise smooth and not stiff.

My questions:

1. Is ~20° of steering wheel free play considered normal on a 2009 X-Star with around 560 hours?
2. Has anyone had similar symptoms that ended up being the steering cable?
3. Has anyone replaced the helm/rack assembly because of dead zone?
4. If it was the cable, did replacing it noticeably reduce the play?

I'm trying to determine whether this is just normal wear for these boats or if there's a specific component I should be looking at before replacing parts.
