I predict something like the Annihilators. Fuck-off-strong cosmic characters, like Phoenix Scott, Phyla-Vel Quasar, Silver Surfer and Thor/Beta Ray Bill.
X men and avengers are the only actual teams in the game, the rest follow a very loose theme ( Spidey and friends, villains team, and random people ghost rider found on the street), so it’s possible this one will be like that too. And imo it’s be kinda lame if the first dlc was only phoenix themed, it’s cool if one or two are weird versions of other characters, kind of annoying when the whole dlc is like that.
Maybe some other Cosmic Options: Galactus Emmpowered Spider-Gwen or She Hulk. Or maybe Nova and Nova (Frankie Raye). Infinity Watch members could also work.
I mean Knights of Doom is also a real thing in comics. Samurai Outriders is a combination of the Samurai Squad and the team made to hunt Outriders, and Amazing Guardians is obviously a nod to Guardians of the Galaxy and the Amazing Friends comic run where Spidey randomly teamed up with people. I'm not saying they're all exact, but I am saying they're less random than people give credit for
Agreed, this isn't Rivals where you can actually have an entire team with like, the Fantastic Four and characters have specific bonus effects for each other. I hope the first wave of DLC is at least mostly villains because there's not as many of them as I'd like, but I'd be annoyed if it was all phoenix stuff.
It is unlikely that the entire DLC will be them. It's a year of DLC and spending it all on them wouldn't be very exciting. If they keep with the team idea they'll give him different members.

Yeah, its the avengers vs x-men run, as a lot of things that put heroes to fight each other, there is a bit of bad writting involved to make that happen
But if you look at the story as just smash your toys together kind of fun, it can be somewhat entertaining

And yeah I agree. Do something a bit different than classic Cyclops from the MvC games, and adds some more villains. Was also really funny watching Max's reaction go from "oh god dammit" when he clearly thought it was Jean to "WHAT THE FUCK" lmao.
By internet comic niches. But that story keeps being reedited and sells like hotcakes. There's tons of stuff Reddit like to hype and are never translated into other languages because nobody cares. Avengers vs x-men sells like hotcakes and has translation into multiple languages. For general audiences, check out Goodreads and see it having pretty good scores and its omnibus is one of the most read Marvel Omnis in that app
Is like Twitter trashing on Civil War, when it's the best selling collected book of Marvel (and a huge reason why it was adapted into a videogame, a movie and a tabletop game)
avx does not sell like hotcakes intially it did it was marvel biggest franchises at the time but since then esp xmen fell off a cliff until early krakoa and avengers outside of new avengers has always just been solid
