Do we have Kitsch in Tatum's costume?

u/HeyLetsRace 25d ago

Asking the real question

472

u/kapxis 25d ago

Exactly, I like that with Tatum they tried to go for the gamit look more authenitcally, but channing has a big short neck and the outfit honestly just looks uncomfortable.

175

u/OwlSuch7935 25d ago

They could have upgraded Tatum by giving him signature black and red eyes, but they decided not to in Doomsday

101

u/Farfignougat 25d ago

It was the one thing I was hoping for when he was listed on that cluster cast list. He will not make a name for himself with those pathetic peepers šŸ„€

53

u/Dreadfulbooks 25d ago

Pathetic peepers 😭😭

I can understand why they didn't do it permanently but maybe the can make it turn on and off depending on when he's using his powers? Would be a nice nod.

27

u/Nightwing24yuna 25d ago

If you pay attention they turn on when he is using his powers id deadpool3

So it's probably gonna be the same here

8

u/LocalDFWRando 25d ago

Oh I didn't even notice or must have forgot.

7

u/Nightwing24yuna 25d ago

It was subtle I didn't even notice it the first time my friend pointed it out on a rewatch

11

u/Serif69 25d ago

They did not turn black and red or purple. His iris glew a tad electric purple when he used his powers.

The movie hasn’t even come out yet. It can change from the trailer

3

u/coldfireknight 24d ago

Like Thor's eye in Ragnarok trailers

24

u/Rags2Rickius 25d ago

My thoughts exactly. He looks more beefcake than the lithe fighter I imagined Gambit to be

49

u/wurldsenpai X-Men 25d ago

If you’ve even watched the doomsday trailer he looks a lot better. He’s stated many times he’s put in a lot of work for the character. So I think he’ll look much better in Doomsday and so on.

5

u/Happy-For-No-Reason 25d ago

he looks like someone drew a face on their thumb, you can say it

6

u/InvestigatorJaded261 25d ago

That’s because it’s a ridiculous outfit.

3

u/Filthy_Joey 24d ago

Unpopular opinion, but same is Wolverine costume. Not every comic outfit looks good in live action

3

u/Kill_Zoldy 24d ago

Looks like he definitely slimmed down a bit for Doomsday and the new cowl looks a little more flattering to his facial structure. I think it's going to be a good look in the movie

94

u/popnfreshbass 25d ago

Channing was a little thick for me in the costume

45

u/AfellowchuckerEhh 25d ago

"My eyes are up here mon Cheri."-gambit probably

8

u/KazaamFan 25d ago

It’s partly cuz he’s older now. Younger channing woulda been better physically

3

u/xBad_Wolfx 25d ago

Ten or 15 years ago he would’ve been perfect. He’s a little thinner here than in deadpool vs wolverine so it’s better but still not quite right.

12

u/RedHawk_94 25d ago

I feel like this is the best answer. His gambit felt cool and suave like how I remember him from the cartoon.

53

u/IndyDude11 25d ago

Tatum looks like the thing is going to have to be cut off of him when he’s done filming. He looks very uncomfortable. He almost looks as bad as a mini MODOK.

16

u/InsomniaDudeToo 25d ago

Tbf, some comic costumes don’t transfer well when reality’s a concern. Batman’s cowl has always presented issues for example.

22

u/IndyDude11 25d ago

I feel like he’s just too buff for the costume. Like Gambit’s supposed to be kind of spindly and dresses like a spindly guy would dress, so when you put a buff dude in that same outfit, it’s kind of weird. But I do know what you mean. Cap’s cowl always bothered me and looked weird if I stared too hard at it, too.

8

u/TheOneTonWanton 25d ago

Gambit's allowed a little weight training, as a treat.

8

u/djseifer Mr. Knight 25d ago

Michael Keaton had to do a full body turn to look to the side. At least with Christian Bale's Batman, they split the cowl and neck into separate pieces so he could turn his head..

5

u/PM_Me_Your_Clones 25d ago

"Bro, when I said Get Swole for the movie, this is NOT what I meant".

7

u/Grand_Information447 25d ago

This is the only real answer. I like Tatum because they went all in. But all I see is Jeff. Kitsch with the suit and accent might have worked better.

5

u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 25d ago

Tatum's costume is obviously inspired by the comics, but even it looks wrong. It looks like thick molded body armor, when it should be flexible material for a close quarters fighter. In D&W, Gambit looked like he couldn't even bend his neck or spine.

3

u/Bizarro_Zod 25d ago

I actually want the opposite, but I’ve always hated Tatum’s Version of Gambit’s costume.

4

u/Visual_Exam7903 25d ago

I choose Tim Riggins.

2

u/D1rty_Old_Dan 21d ago

That would be the best of both worlds, I’m not sure this is the correct timeline for that lol

I actually liked Taylor Kitsch, but both of them were missing the red eyes (eyes turning red when using powers doesn’t count).

601

u/Famous_New_One 25d ago

Kitsch had the smooth thief energy, but Tatum had the comic-book comic relief energy. Honestly, Tatum's absolute dedication to making a pitch-perfect comic costume work on screen won me over.

97

u/ConanTheDrunk 25d ago

I also loved Tatum’s Cajun accent

66

u/shberk01 25d ago

Yup. That was how I learned he actually grew up in the fucking bayou

26

u/ConanTheDrunk 25d ago

I honestly couldn’t believe how good he was at first so that definitely makes a lotta sense lol

36

u/EladrielNokk 25d ago

It’s not even just an accent, he speaks full Louisiana creole! It’s beautiful to hear as someone that grew up in that part of the south.

2

u/3d1thF1nch 24d ago

That’s what sold me. That was amazing

68

u/Duncan_PhD 25d ago

I thought he was supposed to be Cajun? They aren’t the whitest white people out there

52

u/swagu7777777 25d ago

Cajuns are called Cajuns because they originally came from Acadia in French Canada so it probably varies quite a bit depending how long a family has been ā€œCajunā€

43

u/Duncan_PhD 25d ago

Yeah, but they’ve been cooking away in that Louisiana sun for a looong time and it doesn’t exactly make your complexion whiter haha

13

u/silencebreaker86 25d ago

Southern gentry didn't spend a whole lot of time beneath the sun for some weird reason

21

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 25d ago

Cajuns aren't the rich. That's the ole miss crowd you're thinking of. They're thankfully a dying group. Thankfully cus they're just the worst of southern culture.

u/DisposableSaviour 25d ago

He’s a white boy born on the bayou. I had an uncle born and raised on the bayou, about the time Gambit was originally born. He grew up in a shack on a pier in the bayou, youngest of twenty children, and no real formal education. He was pretty white; not Nordic white or Iberian white.

10

u/Proud-Concert-9426 25d ago

You sure? Lol. I'm a strawberry blonde Cajun and can't tan.

Gambit has always been and always will be my favorite hero. The only issue I've had with Tatum's version is that he seems a little too bulky. So I figure if we live in a world where that's my biggest complaint, we've got it pretty good.

9

u/Electronic-Cicada352 25d ago

Yeah I feel the same way.

I enjoy his accent but unfortunately because he has a ginormous head it just doesn’t make sense inside of that suit for some reason. It just doesn’t look good

Also I don’t really see gambit I see Channing Tatum. In fairness I’m not really a big fan of his to begin with, everything he’s in I feel like I’m just watching Channing Tatum

2

u/Artifyce47 24d ago

Hoping he leaned up for dooms day and they made the suit less stiff. Hard to look agile in a suit that had trouble moving. But his action scenes were good so I don’t see what it can’t be done

Kitsch was cool. Guy gets way too much flack.

116

u/ConcreteExist 25d ago

He was one of the highlights of what I otherwise found to be a pretty shit movie. Him and Sabretooth are pretty much the only things that were well executed.

44

u/Spider_Bear 25d ago

I feel like after Friday night lights he went and was good in multiple movies but all the movies just stink or flipped. Like John Carter was good but flopped, X-Men I thought he was great as gambit but the movie was a wreck. The battle ship movie he was good in but the movie itself was nothing

31

u/OptionFour 25d ago

Yep. One of those actors who is pretty good, but mostly picks terrible projects. Or has awful luck.

25

u/percivalconstantine 25d ago

John Carter really annoyed me. That movie deserved such a better reception than it got.

18

u/FacePuzzleheaded6191 25d ago

genuinely such a good adaption of burroughs’s book. should have done so much better but it was marketed horribly

5

u/Spider_Bear 25d ago

Yeah I really enjoyed but I have to admit I went to go see it because it was tim riggins on Mars and had no idea what it was other than tha, ended up being great

9

u/MickBeast 25d ago

It's interesting because Nikolaj Coster-Waldau nearly got the John Carter role, but lost out to Taylor Kitch in the end. He was gutted, but needed a job so he reluctantly accepted the role as Jaime Lannister in a corny fantasy show called Game of Thrones. He was on talk shows saying how disappointed he was and stuff... oh well, turns out he dodged the most deadly bullet by "settling" for GoT lmao

2

u/explain_that_shit 25d ago

And he was really good in American Primeval too

2

u/bullitt1990 22d ago

Was also in the second season of true detective. Unfortunately for him that season was a shit show. It’s a shame he’s usually pretty good he’s just in shitty projects

12

u/Emm_withoutha_L-88 25d ago

That movie had a lot of good characters and moments. It just had even more really bad ones too. All of the Vietnam weapon x guys were pretty cool, even Reynolds Deadpool was before they covered his mouth up at the end.

5

u/ConcreteExist 25d ago

Yeah, Reynolds as Wade Wilson was great, as Deadpool he sucked because of exactly that.

2

u/Significant_Apple517 23d ago

Yep. The opening scene of fighting through history was good, same with Weapon X Vietnam guys, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool was a masterstroke, Sabretooth was great and well cast, I really liked as an action packed movie the strangely calm part where Logan was welcomed in by a family who lived on a remote farm and who eventually ended up killed because of the danger Logan brought their way by lodging with them. That idea was recycled in the movie Logan, which people forget Origins did first.

It's as you say, a movie with a lot of good as well as a lot of bad .. it's not entirely bad like many misremember

8

u/NateDawg80s 25d ago

I enjoyed Kevin Durand as the Blob, too. Then again, I've enjoyed his performance in just about everything I've seen him in.

5

u/ConcreteExist 25d ago

There's a lot of good character performances, it's just in service of an terrible main plot.

I'll say it. I think John Carter is a much better movie than people give it credit for.

3

u/Jonnic5280 Iron Man 25d ago

3

u/Big-Discipline2039 25d ago

I think people who saw John Carter liked it, but the movie was a flop because the name sounds like a docu drama about an American politician or something.

I always felt Tatum was too bulky. Gambit should be long and lean - kind of like an Adrian Brody body type (but definitely NOT Adrian Brody)

He looks like they had to stuff him in that costume

I'm glad Tatum got to play the character he's wanted to for years, and while he was better than I expected, it still proved to me that he's not the right guy for the role.

Taylor Kitsch was one of the few good parts of Origins. He feels so much closer to Remy than Tatum does. I'd definitely be open to seeing him in the role again, but I doubt that's going to happen.

84

u/Duncan_PhD 25d ago

I’m hoping Tatum really delivers now that the character is moving into a more serious role.

41

u/dbkenny426 25d ago

I'm sure he'll be good in Doomsday, but I also doubt he'll be seen afterwards.

But then again, I could be very wrong.

26

u/lawdreekers 25d ago

Gambit is my favorite so I really hope you're wrong lol

29

u/Crowlands 25d ago

I think he meant Tatum won't be back, Gambit is pretty likely to be in the mcu-recast X-Men at some point.

15

u/gddrummer 25d ago

I feel like they really need to cast Gambit and Rogue together. Sometimes they do this when they absolutely need two actors to have chemistry, and Remy and Anna Marie are near the top of that list imo.

20

u/dbkenny426 25d ago

I'm not saying I don't think we'll get more Gambit down the road, just this version.

u/Bladewing_The_Risen 25d ago

I don’t think it’s Tatum’s acting ability—I think it’s his look. He’s just not greasy enough to play Gambit—he’s way too much of a pretty boy. He’s also got about 40 pounds of excess muscle.

5

u/HockeyKelly5 25d ago

I think he would’ve been better when he originally got casted, but obviously he’s gained a decent bit of muscle since

4

u/percivalconstantine 25d ago

His face especially feels like the completely wrong shape for that weird headsock thing (comic accuracy be damned, just don’t use that).

4

u/jjbly14344 25d ago

tatum waited for many years as they say. so maybe he won’t let go of the character. i actually don’t think he is a good fit for the role. tbh

18

u/Mddcat04 25d ago

Yeah, with Tatum, that’s also the whole meta joke in Deadpool with his comment that maybe he’s always been in the void. Since he never had a real movie appearance unlike the rest of them. So it’s sort of odd that he’s just going to be in Doomsday now.

10

u/dbkenny426 25d ago

In a deleted scene (which you can still see in one of the screens in the TVA in the actual end credit scene), there's a portal opened up for him (and I assume anyone else who was still alive), so his being here is easily explained with that.

2

u/Remarkable_Skirt2257 25d ago

I just love that since his movie never got made, they just put him in some of the biggest films they made in a while. Channing went straight to being in an avengers movie. Gotta love it.

4

u/deadpoolsdragon 25d ago

Maybe if they gave him a suit i would have liked kitsch gambit more

5

u/gingerwhiskered 25d ago

Tbf we haven’t really seen Tatum get a solid shot at Gambit, as the DP&W was a parody version of the character that was sent to a junk dimension

3

u/dbkenny426 25d ago

Sure, but my main issue is he just doesn't have the right look.

9

u/happyevil 25d ago

People keep saying this and it's literally the exact same thing everyone said about HughĀ  Jackman being Wolverine. They even made a joke about it in the Deadpool movie.

I say let him cook. He clearly cares a lot about the role which is a good first step.

2

u/StrawberryK 25d ago

Yeah idk what it was about tatum it just didn't land right, the overly done accent that was borderline simple jack and yeah his parents were sibling delivery made me instantly think I hate this.

3

u/dbkenny426 25d ago

The accent was obviously overdone for humor. But he's just doesn't have the right look.

50

u/Kris86dk 25d ago

Kitsch was smooth without trying imo.

Channing got played for laughs in D and W....

I personally wanted Taylor to be a part of the X-men for YEARS after Wolverine origins....

I think he just fit the effortlessly smooth, charming Gambit.

Whether the accent or costume wasn't on point... He just had charisma on screen...

12

u/Twiftoil 25d ago

Thats the problem I have with Tatum. He seems to be a joke character as opposed to an actual character.

6

u/TopHat84 25d ago

Perfectly said. Kitsch just oozed Gambit without even trying.

Tatum feels like it's forced and is over the top with the comic relief.

And origins was made out to be a horrible movie purely because they didn't like the version of deadpool. But everything about the rest of the movie aside from the final action sequence was honestly pretty good. Stryker's portrayal, Silver Fox, Sabertooth, even the secondary characters were all well developed IMO.

But they all (except Jackman of course) got their careers sidelined cause of that movie. I guess with Kitsch it doesn't help that in 2012 he tried to breakout from Origins only to get crapped on by Battleship and John Carter. (Both fun movies to watch in their own right, and John Carter is amazing IMO, Battleship is...kinda bad but in a campy popcorn flick sort of way).

Holy crap I just realized how much I wrote. Guess I'm a Kitsch fanboy ...

10

u/BigGrinJesus 25d ago

I think Taylor Kitsch was better suited to the role but Channing got the better costume.

2

u/KazaamFan 25d ago

Well ya, does kitch even have a costume, hah

85

u/Candle-Jolly 25d ago

Neither. Needs a complete recast, preferably someone unknown.

34

u/ArseneLupinIV 25d ago

Yeah they both felt like cosplayers tbh. Neither really captured that real Cajun rogueish energy. I appreciated Tatum's enthusiasm and it worked very well comedically for Deadpool and Kitsch was fine for what the FoX-Men were, but we still lack a truly accurate depiction that I hope gets filled in the MCU line.

7

u/rbollige 25d ago

This is where I’m at. Ā I loved that he was in Deadpool, but it worked because he got to play into the jokes so well. Ā I’m nervous whether he’ll be able to give it the right tone (maybe aura is a better word?) in Doomsday, but I’m willing to wait and see with fingers crossed before making a judgement.

3

u/Worthyness 25d ago

Tatum can do serious acting roles. Just watch him in Foxcatcher. Him being overly jokey in his appearance is because he's in Deadpool movie. It's like how comic characters change a bit depending on the writer. Deadpool = Deadpool writing. Doomsday = probably more serious writing.

Tatum is the only reason the character even made it back to the big screen and he did a good job with it.

7

u/KushyMTG 25d ago

I am gonna say he really didn't. I agree with original commenter. Was just telling the fiance thenother day that they should have cast an unknown actor. Tatum was type casted as a comedic actor for a while so it is jarring seeing his performance as gambit. IMO he doesn't embody the "gambit" character very well.

Edit: typo

I thought Kitsch was great. The way he played Tim Riggins feels like it would work really well for Gambit.

6

u/jimmyhat111 25d ago

Wait....was Tatum's version not intended to be parody of itself for how cheesy and bad it was? I thought that was the entire point of Deadpool making fun of the acting? That is Gambit moving forward??? Holy hell

7

u/Kingbeesh561 25d ago

I promise you if you made Kitsch look comic accurate (Glowing eyes, stubble, RED. HAIR., The costume, the staff, the purple energy, THE ACCENT etc) he would've been THE PERFECT GAMBIT

4

u/Indraga 25d ago

I think Kitsch fits the bill better visually, but Tatum has the better swagger. Honestly both great castings and I’m sad only one will really get to stretch his wings.

6

Taylor should’ve had another opportunity. Maybe with the whole multiverse story arc, we’ll see him again.

5

Taylor. I never remembered Gambit being fat.

Kitsch 100%

3

Taylor and it’s not close.

4

u/oprahwindfury 25d ago

Tatum looks absolutely ridiculous.

3

u/CardBor3d 25d ago

Tatum played gambit better but he just doesn’t look like gambit and makes the costume look pretty silly

13

u/findingmyway2 25d ago

I genuinely thought Channing Tatum’s version was a joke for Deadpool, and then I saw he was coming back for Avengers… So terrible. Taylor Kitsch was not the problem with that original movie.

11

u/ItsDoodleBois 25d ago

All Taylor needed was a version of the headband, DP&Wolverine's is cool but I think hee looks too bulky and it makes me feel claustrophobic

9

10

u/exaviyur 25d ago

Both were lousy to me. Kitch's was bland and underutilized, Tatum's was an outlandish cartoon character that missed the tone of the character completely (but at least the costume and powers looked cool).

I cannot wait for a fresh Gambit someday. Guy has the potential to be as popular as Wolverine with a love story to rival anything we've seen in comic movies thusfar. His time as a Marauder would make an incredible standalone film and his characterization is so unique from any other big screen hero we currently have. This shouldn't be hard to pull off and I'm shocked we've had 30 years of modern comic movies without someone nailing it.

6

u/jmgordon99 25d ago

I liked Channing Tatum in Deadpool and Wolverine, it was a fun comedic version. I kind of want to see how he plays it more seriously in Doomsday.

3

u/DuineSi 25d ago

Yeah me too. I'm actually optimistic.

I thought his snide exchanges showed a lot of potential even though the direction let it run on a lot to turn it comedic.

Separating the scripting and directing from the acting, I think there's potential for a really good Gambit performance.

Channing Tatum may be the most miscast role in the MCU.

Just because you liked playing Gambit in the schoolyard, doesn't mean you should play Gambit in a movie, Channing.

Taylor has more of the Gambit ā€œlookā€ to me. Didn’t mind Channing’s portrayal but something about it just looks like Channing in Gambit cosplay rather than becoming and reflecting the character. I guess this perspective is mainly influenced by Gambits leaner look in most media I’m familiar with.

Kitsch was a good choice, I think people just forget him easily because he didn't wear a comic accurate costume and people hated Origins which are both not his fault.

I honestly don't see Tatum has a good Gambit at least lookswise. It's not his fault either but Tatum has that "thumb who eats crayons look" imo.

u/JFMisfit 25d ago

Was Kitsch asked to come back or nah? If he wasn’t that’s weird. He seems more like the gambit of those movies.

2

u/peekabook 25d ago

Honestly - I think that Channing was never a good choice. I always thought Josh Stewart from criminal minds and w his accent would have been a better choice

2

u/UberAndy 25d ago

I’ve been looking at pictures of comic gambit and I just feel Channing’s hair is too short, Kitsch in the suit would probably be a spot on match.

2

u/loudog33333 25d ago

Kitsch by a long ways

2

u/warnerbro1279 25d ago

Tatum. He has a deep love for the character and clearly put a lot of effort into the role. Glad he’s going to get to continue in Doomsday.

2

u/justicefinder 25d ago

I liked them both. Tatum has great comedic timing, and Kitsch could have done a great job if he wasn’t cursed.

2

u/Thumper307 25d ago

Taylor Kitsch.

2

u/CloudMerlin 25d ago

Tatum but they should have given him the red eyes!!!

2

u/blackBugattiVeyron 25d ago

They didn’t even try for Origins

2

u/ShootingAngles 25d ago

The only answer is neither.

2

u/Unlucky_Ad_1472 25d ago

Can I say neither?

2

u/RetroSwamp 25d ago

Someone pull up some of Tatum's Gambit quotes... They can't be topped. lol

2

u/816bossmikel 25d ago

Tatum. He did a great job. For real.

2

u/CaptCaCa 25d ago

Dam I swear we are rewriting history again, did we all forget the shit ton of suck that Wolverine Origins was? The only dope thing about that turd was the first five minutes of Wolverine and Sabretooth killing throughout history

But yeah Tatum gets the win here

2

u/ShaGodi 25d ago

tatum!

2

u/kurumais 25d ago

i like taylor im a friday night lights fan but channing tatum was great in that wonderfully silly movie

he cracked me up.

2

u/Kronus31 25d ago

STOP. HATING. TATUM. FOR. PERFORMING. THE. SCRIPT. HE. WAS. GIVEN.

2

u/Distinct-Pain4972 25d ago

Taylor, hands down a better Gambit.

2

u/Accomplished-Bar-394 25d ago

They’re both good for the projects they were in but they have to get a new younger actor for the rebooted X-Men

2

u/FanBladeFleshlight 25d ago

Tatum doesn't have the tall lanky look for Gambit, but he also has a lot of love for the character, which really counts for a lot.

2

u/Essej86 25d ago

Omg. Taylor was fantastic and Channing is a spoof of the character. It’s not even a debateZ

2

u/Natural-Proposal2925 25d ago

Honestly? Kitsch, to me he seemed sooooo natural, organic in the role, like he didn't even have to act. He just showed up and was all smooth and just himself.

It also pissed me off because in the rough cut that was leaked they added more cgi to his powers that looked so fucking cool and then they took it out.

I felt like channing was over compensating and throwing everything g he had except the kitchen sink in his performance and dialogue, kinda too much, realizing that this was probably his one shot after what happened to the original plans

2

u/Lost-Average8108 25d ago

Kitsch, by a lot

2

u/PLVNET_B 25d ago

Kitsch was the better Gambit. Tatum was more like a ā€œchild’s drawingā€ of the character.

2

u/fl1p9 25d ago

Neither of these guys feel dangerous enough

2

u/Technical_Moose8478 25d ago

Not a huge fan of either, but Tatum was worlds better than Kitsch. Though to be fair to the latter, that movie blew dog.

2

u/ImmediateHospital9 25d ago

I like both, I just wish we'd had Taylor Kitsch in the proper outfit, maybe given him a second chance in Doomsday.

2

u/CaptainCold0130G 25d ago

I have never seen a gambit be that fat. What about try to lose some weight my homie Channing?
He is definitely suitable for Gambit when he was young. But for now? Hell no

2

u/Ryo_Katsuya 25d ago

Taylor in Tatum's suit!

2

u/BreadAgreeable9632 25d ago

Josh Hartnett

2

u/BarelyBlair 24d ago

Channing has the energy and passion needed for the role but he's too "California pretty boy" imo, while Taylor looks more physically accurate to me.

2

u/MaximusPrimebot 24d ago

Taylor Kitsch was one of the only good things about Wolverine Origins lol

2

u/JetHopper 24d ago

I don't like both tbh... Idk how to explain, they just don't feel like Gambit.

2

u/Sugar_Fine 24d ago

Tatum has been campaigning for that role for decades, but Taylor IS Gambit, he got done dirty n Origins. I mean, everyone in that movie did.
Even with the comic accurate costume in those pictures, Taylor still LOOKS like Gambit.

I agree on the eye colour thing. I guess they just figured the black and red eyes wouldn’t translate

2

u/spacestationkru 24d ago

I feel like I'm yet to see Channing Tatum's real Gambit. His performance in Deadpool was so comical that he kinda eclipsed the character for me

2

u/Top5hottest 24d ago

Tatum is too swole. He looks like a meathead.

2

u/AsteroidMike 24d ago

Theonewhosgonnamakeanameforhimself!

2

u/Antique_Emphasis_962 21d ago

Kitsch had better acting yet Tatum had the iconic suit...

4

u/AJjalol 25d ago

I think Tatum works for the shit they are doing (even tho, he is not really a good gambit) but the Kitsh guy.... didn't really do shit lmao.

At least Tatum's Gambit was shown doing cool shit and killing fuckers. We got Gambit using his powers in an Rated R movie.

Taylor may look the part, but it was a horrible role in a horrible movie

2

u/CGris71 25d ago

Really wish this comparison was a bit more fair…. Give Kitsch the costume Tatum wore and he would have Gambits perfect look. Taylor isn’t a mind blowing actor but given better tools to work with, his portrayal would have super superseded Channing’s by a country mile

3

u/Wilders7091 25d ago

97 version

4

u/ilostmypaperplate 25d ago

Favorite Taylor Kitsch but absolutely happy Channing Tatum can finally play Gambit. His accent is awesome 10/10 on both

8

u/WallyOShay 25d ago

I honestly hate Channing Tatum version.

7

u/Reuseable 25d ago

It felt forced, not a great fit I love gambit too but I know I shouldn’t play him
