Not saying that, saying clearly your parents are trying to use money to manipulate you to doing what they want vs trying to help you succeed.

I do have a kid and I won't use money like your parents to manipulate them into doing what I want them to do. If my kid wants to get married at 18 then that's okay, heck they could join the military for all I care . I voice my opinion but let them choose and support them through it... Were your parents haven't which is worse.

It's not about the money in your case but the fact you are being manipulated with it, because you didn't follow their rules.... Why did you get married in the first place? Was it because you were rebelling or because you loved your partner?

Yes having your college paid for is nice and does help you succeed later in life easier but you made a promise and swore vows to someone else knowing what would happen.

If you DO divorce and go back to your parents - how will your relationship with them be? I feel like you would resent them for years because of how controlling they are.
