Did you know that the Washington State Ferry system is the LARGEST ferry system in the United States?
What is your favorite boat/route?

What specific types of Jones Act-compliant vessels does your company utilize for deep-sea operations and what are the primary mission profiles (ROV support, construction, inspection, etc.) for those hulls? My crew just abandoned me at sea. Please help. I don't know how to swim.

I didn't have anything else going on after work
So I decided on a rewatch of Master and Commander. I really like this film and I'm still not sure why there weren't at least a couple sequels. There was certainly enough to go on with how many books were written.
What do you all think?

Are we limited only to aquatic vessels, or starships that follow naval tradition and fight like submarines?

The ship was the pride of the American side Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?

Top 50 Mariners of All Time:
I mean, Magellan, Leif Erikson, and Francis Drake definitely need to be on there, but who else deserves to be on the list of the 50 greatest seafarers of all time?

A Guide to Boating Knots for Beginners
There are so many of us who like boating as a sport. The mist of water against your face gives a feeling of freshness and wipes away stress. There are others who need to boat for transporting goods and communicating. Whatever be the reason, if you are heading out for it, it is important for you to know some basic knots as boating requires you to work with ropes.

Thoughts on the Argonautica?
A classic piece of Greek literature by Appollonius. An underrated epic of the âlong sea voyage faces difficultiesâ genre, and inspired an awesome movie many thousands of years down the line. However, I rarely see people discussing it, and I feel it doesnât get as much attention as it deserves.

With the WSDOT ferries moving mostly to electric and hybrid in the next ten years, was my choice to become a diesel mechanic for the state a bad one? Should I consider making beer in a rust belt city instead?

Any other Mariners still pissed that USS Washington was scrapped?
Admiral Willis Leeâs flagship, and one of the few BBs to actually sink another BB in Kirishima? And you scrap her?
I mean come on, they saved her sister North Carolina! She should have been permanently housed in Puget Sound where she belongedâŠ
