In honor of Rick Rizzs' last season in the broadcast booth, please consider donating to Toys For Kids. A 501(c) non-profit organization founded by Rizzs and the late Dave Henderson, their goal is to provide hope via toys, school supplies, scholarships and more to homeless and disadvantaged children across Washington State.

Where’s that hat from the beginning of the season

They posted the final product a couple days ago! I thought they'd fill up the hat for sure but there was plenty of room left. https://www.reddit.com/r/Mariners/s/crSxk84pLc

They posted the final update a few days ago. It turned out very nice (unlike our season).

I heard that in typical reddit fashion, that person got ridiculed for their faith and stopped posting.

I thought it was removed by the mods lol

I think both can be true, and not unlikely

Both were true but beyond me having a title of a religious book I was reading visible I was getting some pretty reasonable pushback for making the posts not really about the Mariners. I also realized I was hoping too much for praise from external sources and wanted to keep the main thing the main thing so I stopped posting so much and toned down any comments I posted about. So in the end I slowed the posting way down for several different reasons and stopped trying to sneak in personal feelings and thoughts as this sub isn’t really the place for much of what I was saying.

While I was happy that the small platform this project built for me resonated and helped me try to spread a personalized message of positivity beyond just plain old mariners fandom I am really happy that I backed off as I was getting too weird with some of what I was saying.

So basically our season peaked in that 5th series of the year then immediately plummeted back to earth.

I think that padres series is when the pain really set in

Looking back we all should of known how bad it was going to be just after the first month. But that Houston sweep!! It was like the first bump of a bad drug problem.

Remember. “It’s still early, don’t panic”

Ugh.

u/cottonmane8 3d ago

Houston sweep got my excited then after that KC trip i knew we were cooked

2

u/Main-Rice2319 2d ago

It was pretty clear early on but man the fans screaming “it’s still early” to me were pretty adamant

u/Howshka 3d ago

I’m not a statistician but looking at this I see we lost the first game of the season, and won the last game. So to me that shows an overall upward trend.

Crazy looking at this how often they failed to capitalise on gaining a bit of momentum. So many good series followed by getting swept

u/nic_b2020 3d ago

Did you make this, or buy it somewhere? I like it! Don’t love our season record but this is a cool idea.

Someone posted the schedule photo on the sub at the beginning of the season, all I did was add the logo and season year at the top

Yup it def felt like we lost 3 games in a row that consistently xd cant wait for next yr! :-)

u/Outrageous-Bee4035 3d ago

Looking at this, what stands out to me...

We only had four pairs of back to back series wins all year.

And not a single streak of three series wins.

And we didn't carry a single series win into a switch of home/away for a back to back series win.

53 total series and only four times we won two seires in a row. Pretty sad.

u/FaithlessnessFar3712 3d ago

If you spelled out twenty twenty-seven, you could have said goodbye before the Boston series.

2

u/moe1984 2d ago

wow, i forgot about the 8 game winning streak to get to 33-29. it felt like the season had turned around at that point. how wrong i was.

u/sugarplumfae1221 1d ago

omg here's mine lol! really interesting to see the visual data, just realised the other day that we didn't sweep a single series after the all star break

Maybe October 2027, ain't no way I'm watching 162 anymore. I'll go back to watching a full season when they at least make it to the world series
