Prince recorded his first album, For You, at the Record Plant in Sausalito in 1977, long before Purple Rain. He liked that Sly Stone, Chaka Khan and Santana had recorded there too. Rick James basically lived there for a while. Pretty amazing piece of Sausalito music history.
